So I have finally decided on going with OME setup. But I need a help with a few things that I don't know if I'm going to need or some people say to definitely not get. For one, I'm going to do 886 up front because of my bumper and added weight and full Dakar in the rear because I do tow a bit but always have something in the bed. I like how the truck sits with the rear being a little higher so I don't wanna make it too level.

So on that note a few things,
    1. do I need to do UCA's, if so whats cheap
    2. trim spacer up front
    3. extended brake lines
    4. diff drop, or can I get away with a carrier bearing drop or do I need either

Going to do an order sometime this week and try do install with some friends so any help in a right direction would be awesome!

You will probably need ucas to get a correct alignment. You'll want the trim spacer for the drivers side. You won't need extended brake lines or diff drop. You'll probably want a carrier bearing drop.

headstong off-road has the best price on light racing ucas. You'll also need to remember to get bushings for the dakars

I just purchased my OME set up with LR UCA's from Headstrong. Marie from Headstrong was amazing to deal with and is very knowledgable. I would strongly recommend them. Just my .02. Good Luck.

Sounds good, I was thinking about the UCA's anyways but wasn't sure. It also seems like most do the carrier bearing drop but didn't know either.

Hollywood, how long did it take to ship and get in? Also did you install yourself or shop it out?

My situation is complicated. I have purchased the lift already but Headstrong is holding off on shipping for a few days, as I am having the components shipped to an address south of the boarder. Had to figure out a day that I could make it south. Much cheaper than to have it shipped directly to me in Canada. If I recall correctly it was 7 to 10 days shipping time.

Marie at Headstrong was amazing to deal with and most accommodating and knowledgable. She can definitely sort you out.

As far as install....I am not mechanically inclined. I would probably have a better chance building a rocket ship and flying to the moon.

The hardest part of the install is assembling the coilovers. I paid wheelers to do mine so I didn't have to deal with it. I installed my whole lift by myself in my driveway in about four hours. It's pretty straight forward. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

hate to be that guy and correct me if i'm wrong but i think you mean the hardest part was installing the springs and shocks. coilovers come as one unit and are no more than a bolt on.
also, there are plenty of vids on how to compress springs using a floor jack on youtube which obviously isn't the safest possible way of doing it but many people are having success using this method.

Yeah you can get the struts assembled from wheelers. You could also take them over to a nearby auto shop and they can put them together pretty easily. Your CV angle wont be too bad with the OME kit, so dont get the diff drop: itll just decrease your ground clearance and make you drop your skids as well. You dont need to get uca's but itll make you alignment easier and more accurate.

Interested to see your truck after this

Here's the link on that in case you are interested in a little "light" reading OP:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/118545-remove-differential-drop-your-05-tacoma.html

Additionally, it doesn't really "drop" it, more so rotates it so that internals that should be getting lubed are not. Does more harm than good. Save the $30 for pizza/beer in case you need an extra hand doing it yourself

Well after reading this I will definitely be saving the $30 on beer and my buddy for help. Will be giving Marie a call on Monday to hopefully get an order in I'll start as soon as they come in and get cracking. Thanks for all the help guys and I will be sure to take some pics after I'm done!
