From your pics, it looks like there are "ballasts or Drivers" that need to be mounted somewhere, right? The ones from Beefstatic are just plug 'N play.

    going to be fun!
That's awesome but maybe it's me or the pictures but, it seems as if the 6K are brighter and more blue on the High beam and the 5K have about the same brightness in both high and low beams and casts a further beam on high.

This LED shit is just too damn confusing sometimes for the money in my opinion. But if I do it I want it to be right the first time....

You say the cons are the high beam isnt much brighter than the low beam. Are the high beams from a halogen bulb brighter than the led high beam?

I have them on my Taco too so I guess can answer your question. They are brighter than the halogen/stockers. This particular LED does not throw the high beam as far as the halogen bulbs. I was expecting the high beams to throw lights down the road similar to that of a flashlight but ended up quite disappointed with the performance of the high beams. The only reason I decided to keep them is because the low beams are so much brighter than the halogen bulbs.

That sucks. I wonder if there are any that project a far high beam? For me it's important to have really good high beams. Lots of deer around here.

Just noticed something strange. I looked back at beeftastic's link and noticed a "new 2014" version on Sirius LED's website here...
    http://www.siriusled.net/collections/h4/products/6400-lumen-9003-h4

Now if you look closely at the pics on B.A. Led's site of the H4 and click on pic 4 of 5 these look like identical setups only B.A. Leds have their logo laser etched on the fan...
    http://www.briteassleds.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=56

These even look remarkably similar looking to the latest version of LifetimeLEDs H4...
    https://www.lifetimeledlights.com/led_lights/h4_70w_headlight

I don't know, I'm still a bit leery... It seems like many people are sourcing these and reselling them as their own. I'm more and more tempted at this point to try the fan-less ones that I found on another thread. At least it's one less point of failure.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/product-reviews/346480-torchstar-led-headlight-conversion-kit.html

Then there is always an even cheaper fan-less and ballast free 2400lm version that I found on another thread that has apparently been run since June...
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/334139-new-version-led-headlights-installed.html

Everytime I look around and read more posts I get more and more frustrated but the halogens in these things really suck and I would really like a good fairly non-intensive solution... I guess maybe it's a jump in somewhere and see what happens kind of mod. All of the products out right now just seem really unstable and having what amounts to a computer fan in an open engine bay seems really sketchy to me...

I've been looking and I don't see anything that says they are DOT approved. Just a terms and conditions that says to follow local laws.

Can anyone who bought these confirm that they're marked DOT approved?

So, to be fair, the OP started this about the BA lights. Are you comparing the Sirius lights (beeftastic) to the BA lights? IMO not a fair comparison, but that's my take.

My plan (in progress now) is to show the difference between the BA lights and stock. I've taken some pics and video of the stock operation and will be doing some side to side comparison on my truck once I have one side of the BA lights in. Should have results in a couple of days and they are the BA lights. I won't be comparing any others. I don't get paid enough for that. :)

This.........same as the lifetime ones and whatever other ones. Not enough difference in low and high beams. The lows are brighter but it's mostly like you gave up the high beams going to LED.

Since you have the BA, can you confirm they are DOT approved?

Country boy had said: "I don't know, I'm still a bit leery... It seems like many people are sourcing these and reselling them as their own."

^it is for this very reason that I posted to this thread in the first place. There is so much re-branding in the led game. Light bars included. I looked around at several different light setups. I've had my led in since March and had no problems other than the whole high beams not being as bright as I'd like. Didn't want the extra ballast taking up room either.

When it comes down to it people on this forum have helped me so many times. With these I had a good experience and wanted to save folks some money. Good luck all!

How much further do the high beams throw comparing to low beams? We all know it's not much but can you give us an estimate...like 10,20,30 feet further?

    Thanks.

I know. It just seems like there are too many solutions that might work but seem to be sketchy on the quality side. I don't mind spending the money but, I don't have extra to burn either. No pun intended...

I mean I've heard of Lifetime LEDs failing for no reason, failing in the cold, etc, etc, and then we get these and some of the others that I posted links to that haven't been tried for very long. If I'm going to spend $100+ on headlights and similarly for fogs they had better give me at least 5 or 6 years of trouble free operation with good illumination and throw...

I'll try to get that answer from BA. However, I've YET to see any "replacement" bulb that is DOT approved. Even at SEMA I asked about replacement LED's being DOT approved and by themselves the answer was NO. But, you can buy a "total" package that is DOT approved for some lens types.

As far as these are concerned, I hope they don't make that big of an impact on oncoming traffic. Even when I drive Hwy. 88 in the Sierra's with my lows and fogs on, I get flashed (no women yet) and have to let them know by flashing my high's that they aren't on.

I'm getting more video of stock lights at night right now. Taking everything from my road which is dark. Also taking stopped photos in the same place in my yard for comparison. Should have something by the weekend. Postponed my Sierra trip for a few days.
