The thimble is definitely not as easy as just hooking up with a hook but I must agree with others that the thimble is a much safer method. I got the smittybilt quick shackle so its not as difficult to hook up or remove because of that.

The wireless remote has little to no lag. If there is any its not even noticeable compared to the wired remote.

There are a few people that make that type of hawse. I considered it but I am just sticking with my roller fairlead. Not worth the $80 for not much benefit IMO.

Interesting. Looking at the Tigershark 9500, and their website says Dyneema. Looked up the Marlow website, and they say Dynemma in their ropes as well.

Off topic, but Superwinch launched these at SEMA

Until you pinch a syn line in a roller fairlead. What a pain in the ass...:anonymous:

Also I did a lot of research and could not find anyone making an offset fairlead that is 1.5"s thick.

Those do look pretty nice. I have considered the Maxtrax and Treds but not as necessary as other things.

There has been many discussions on multiple thread and multiple forums about pinched lines in roller fairleads. I am sure it has happened but other things happen too. Maybe, next, we should make a huge deal of the how the hawse will cut the synthetic lines:

I will gladly run my synthetic line on my roller fairlead. You, and others, can run your hawse. To each their own.

In reference to the thickness, most that actually give the specs are 20mm thick. Slee, Southeast Overland, OKO offroad and Hercules doesn't mention the thickness but they do look thicker as well as Vikings. According to this remark Viking makes theirs about 1.5":
