Dude you are a life saver I had no idea this existed I've looked up and down for a shock to get rid of that stupid spacer I thought my only option was 1500 dollar coil overs (icon &king) ...so this will bolt right up out of the box and replace the need for that 6 inch spacer?please excuse my lack of knowledge I appreciate your time in responding

Yes bolts right up like a stock shock. Radtaco914 is also running this same shock on his db lift as well. He was also looking for an alternative to getting high dollar coilovers so I recommended it to him as well. Rcd is the only db lift I know that runs this longer shock so you don't need to run the top hat spacer if you run this shock. This shock though can be run on any db lift though to eliminate using the stock length shock and spacer that comes with the basic kits.

Okay awesome I'm going order those shocks last question is what to do for the back I have blocks now and really want to junk those I plan on towing a good amount of weight and want to know the best option for the rear.dont know if ad a leaf or a whole new leaf pack is better for towing I have only seen leaf packs that say 3" of lift I wouldn't mind the back being slightly lower than the front but not too to much 2" diffrence max

Get a whole new leaf pack and I would recommend allpro expos which I ran on my truck. Expos will give you 4" and will able to handle the heavy loads. I would also replace the rear shocks with the longer bilsteins for the rear while your at it. be5-b110-t5

You have to remember that the truck stock has a 2" rake in the front so a 2" lift in the front with zero in the back = level. That is why your 6" front lift kit only uses a 4" block in he rear.

4" lift front only needs 2" lift rear to be level

5" lift front only needs 3" lift rear to be level

    Etc..etc...

and this kids, is why we dont use Drop Bracket lifts on our tacomas.

I had NO IDEA that they required CUTTING OF THE FRAME.... jezus... its just ruin the structural integrity of the frame while lifting the truck sounds like a great idea to me!

Looks like you got your options OP.

Not all DB's do that, most only require one cut where the front shaft needs to clear and I hate to break it to you but the steel my DB is made out of is twice as strong as the OE frame, our frames are soft. The cam tabs on my DB are 10 x stronger than the OE cam tabs too...and ultimately if you have a 4x4 it is the only way to get more than 2" of lift without having horrific CV angles etc.

Why did they cut into your crossmember? That's only necessary for 4x4 Tacos..

only 4x4 have to cut the crossmember. its only so the front drive shaft has clearance to drop. your 2wd no frame cut necessary. thats any db kit.
