I've got some plastidipped (horrible derp job - oops) roof racks from a while back that I decided I didn't want on my Taco anymore. Now with new mods, I thought I might see how they look. I rested them on (didn't actually install them) and stood back. Not sure how I feel about them. So, I came to y'all. What do y'all think - yes or no?

Here is my Taco with them on:

Here's what it looks like with no racks

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I can also take some better pictures if you want.

Honestly probably not. Too cold outside to kayak - and that's pretty much all I'd need them for in Waco

Don't worry if someone doesn't like something that you've done to YOUR truck.

Looks fine. Question is...is it on just for looks or will you use it? If you will use it then its a no brainer! Install!

Yakima makes the different Q-clips to put a rack on an AC. I did some research but didn't buy anything yet. I like a rack/basket/lights up there myself. Im on the fence because I know it'll wreck my already crappy mpg.

go with oem rack, they are actually really good. another thing to consider, if you travel on the highway at all, racks that dont fold like the oem ones WILL make noise from the wind.

Unless you're actually using them for something, like ladders, boats, skis, RTT, etc., I would take them off. Just extra wind noise and resistance.

    Yes
Keep the one up front and make a light bar out of it. Then send me the other rack so I can do the same. :D

Westin lights, Westin Light bar holder, New front bumper, Custom floor matts, Steering wheel cover, board in bed to keep groceries from rolling around, new radio, New flat bed cover.
Go with the rack. You could put so much stuff up there and also it will increase the value of your truck by a whole lot(maybe not a whole lot but a bit definitely). Who does not like roof rails?

There is no OEM rack for an AC. Not that I've ever seen.

Thanks guys. My truck came with those racks right from the lot. They make a shit ton of noise and it's quite annoying. I don't really have a whole lot of uses for them honestly, so theres another point of contention. At this point putting them on would pretty much just be for looks... Probably going to leave em' off until I need them.

I think they look just fine but if they make a lot of noise and are annoying then take them off. I had a Yakima roof rack for mine but it was pretty noisy so I went with the OEM rack after that since the bars stow away to the side when not in use.
