Sheboygan Wisconsin. Not quite next door to either of us!

    Three reasons I'll beat:

    I ordered first
    Mine aren't heated
    I'm retired.

First picture installed and lit up wins. I like Coors.

Three reasons I won't take that bet:

    You ordered first
    Yours aren't heated
    You are retired.

Bonus reason: It is Thanksgiving week, so my delivery is going to be even slower.

so you want to be able to see the lights blinking?
only reason i see adding these if the truck didnt have the turn signal mirrors...
the stock oem ones are viable perfectly from behind the truck, blind spots and if youre in a 4 way intersection.

If someone is in your blind spot, they would be able to see the mirror signal but maybe not the rear signal. It is also more visible for a little added safety. Plus, they just look cool, IMO.

Honestly though, I personally wouldn't do it just for the signals. But since I am putting in heated mirrors, its worth it to me to spend/do the little extra for the signals.

Well yea I know. And with the stock mirrors that have the turn signals you can lol
That's the reason I bought the 4Runner mirrors. Allt of careless drivers in California...and I didn't want to go aftermarket again.

Actually the stock turn signal mirrors can only be seen from the front of the truck. At night you might see them from the side a bit.

Negative. Go check the truck out with the signal on.
It can be seen directly from behind the truck (it over laps out) and all of the side till a bit past the truck. And the front can only be seen on at night

In person it's a lot darker and can be seen better...

    https://vimeo.com/112955561

I'm not complaining that the ones the OP are better and all but I've installed ablut 10 sets of these mirrors assembly's already and the cover all the good stuff.

The ones in the OP would be great for people with no stock turns on the mirrors (cheaper)

Agreed, but then, there are drivers all around us who are in a daze, so a bright flashing red arrow will tend to sharpen them up.

Coincidentally, The postman just came and left my 3rd brake light flasher from KAHTEK. Check it out:

this is true....more lights in some cases like this is better. grabs the attention.

yea i remember seeing that before. not bad...but i run my best top at times so i need to make a spare 3rd brake light to mount up on it because it covers it when its up.

Does anyone know if you can use the Muth heated signal mirrors with the highlander switch? I prefer a OE looking switch.

Yes, that is exactly what I have always done and will again this time. You need to add a relay in between though, or the switch will burn up the first time you use it. And they are not cheap, as you probably know. Mine was around $62

Yep, you're right, they can be seen from the side/rear. The mirrors still make it more obvious. I guess they're not for everyone though. I bet you'd like them if you had them though. I know I liked them a lot more than I expected I would.

Can someone tell me if you can just wire these into the sport mirrors? I don't want the heated ones. But instead of running the wires all the way into the truck, can I just tap into the wires already in the mirrors?

Yes, you can wire these directly to the sport mirror signals. I've done it.

Thanks! Do you still have to take the door panel off and then the mirror? Or is there enough room when you take the glass out of the mirror to splice them in while the mirror is still on the truck?

It would be really difficult to do without taking the mirror off the truck. Its really not hard at all to take them off the truck though. The worst part is those little plastic pull out panel clips. They tend to break, but you can usually make them work again even when they are partially broken.

Thanks! I think I will get them, I still don't think I want to try hooking up for heated ones though. I better just keep it simple!

I got my Muth signal mirrors by UPS today, and began the installation. I didn't get to finish because the sky opened up and dumped on me. I had the window down and unplugged, so my new Taco got wet before I got the window up again! Supposed to storm worse tomorrow, so maybe couple more days before I finish the mod.

I'll confirm what AeroCooper said, you do have to take off the door panel and the mirror off the door. I wanted to do the splice inside the mirror, but the original wires were snugged up too tight to get decent access. It's technically possible, but not with my big hands. Best to run the wire into the door and do the splice inside the door.

I got as far as testing the connections, and am pleased with the result. It's not a big huge thing as shows on the website, it's small and unobtrusive, with very little visibility lost from the morror itself.

A tip on the instructions: Use the Muth online version rather than the dinky printed black & white instructions.

I also got my mirrors today, but I'm not planning to tackle this until the weekend. I'm hoping for some kind of decent weather, but we'll see.
