No worries. I wouldn't want this upon anybody. Glad I spotted it before it got real bad. I def don't want windshield leaks.

The hoarding has begun. A simple trip to Las Vegas has ended up in a commitment to convert my 2006 to a 2013 Tacoma. Keep me in mind you fellow followers should you see a part that I will need, shoot me a PM. Looking for the obvious parts... 2012 + headlights, hood and a silver streak Grill. I'm working on the other parts. Cheers!

Hey, sorry, i didn't read what harness you used to plug the aux cable into your jbl 6 disc changer. would love to be able to do that to mine cheaply/easily.

Honestly I don't even know. It was installed at The Good Guys shortly after I bought the truck. It does take up one disc space from the 6 disc changer in the JBL system. Still works good to this day. No complaints.

Thank you. If you go to remove yours be careful because with mine the nuts got stuck to the bolts attached to the scoop. It was difficult to remove because everything was spinning inside.

I cleaned that area good, taped it off and used touch up paint to blend it in. That's all I did. I hated the black lines.

So I was on my way to work last night and noticed at the Carl's Jr drive thru that my temperature was HOT. I've never seen it that high. I immediately turned it off and waited for the cars in front of me to move. By the time I was ready to leave, I had to turn the truck back on and noticed it was getting HOT again. I was only about 1/2 a mile from work and knew I could make it there safely. Sure enough I did. The weird thing is that by the time I got to work, the temperature was normal. :notsure:

There were no leaks under the truck. Nothing looked abnormal under the hood. So I let it cool down. Eight hours later, I'm back on the road on my way home and nothing. Everything was ok.

For those of you who know, would you take the truck to Toyota to diagnose the issue or would you just replace the thermostat assuming that's the issue? I know it can be a variety of issues. The thermostat just seems to be the easiest to fix/replacing. Otherwise, I know I can be looking to replace other parts like a water pump (I think). Thoughts?

Yes, I know... I need gas. I drove my wife's car today. I will have to get gas tomorrow. Also on a side note, I passed my SMOG check with 184K miles. HURRAY. The was $50 well spent.

Frank Toyota. They were reasonably priced with a coupon. They even did the engine compartment. I'd use them again, but I think I need someone that can go deep and do a good polish - Not just a wax.

I ended up selling the bumper. Another member banged up his MGM bumper. Since I had that color, I sold it to him. I haven't started any part of the conversion, but still gathering parts slowly. I need a grille but still wanting a color-keyed one. I guess you can say I'm enjoying the new headlights for now since Toyota had replaced them. :D
