I removed the tabs off the factory splash guard where the front two bolts are and also notched the TRD skid hardware. The write-up is here and it worked out perfect for me!

I left the spacers out of mine and the gap is barely there but enough that I'm comfortable that it won't rub on my bumper cover over the years.

The link goes to one that you hook on the hitch. That looks different than what you have. Did you just modify it or is it different?

That's the same one I used. Yes, slightly modified. I didn't use the center bar that would originally go into your receiver. Had to drill some holes for the center support pieces to bolt on also.

Interesting. Not a bad idea and it would be nice to get a little more of my bed space back. Thanks for the heads up

Bought a rubberized mat from lowes and cut it to fit my bed. Its about 1/2in. thick and has some weight to it too. Just need to bolt it down

Lol, no it curls a bit and it's not quite as heavy as the real deal more to just keep it in place.

those brackets that are holding it are pretty handy, but better for longer things. I was thinking of putting some quick-fists on the outside of the ammobox on other side to hold that in the winter and something else other times of the year not quite sure yet.

    45bucks at lowes, 4x6ft.
