Did ALOT of research on changing over to LED for map and dome lights .Here's the best deal/mod I could find with zero bad feedback .

Does replacing the stock bulb with an led bulb negate the theater lighting feature of the interior dome light?

 

It still does have the dimming feature, but not as smooth. It's like steps. This may depend on the led though. Mine did this when I swapped in a single led bulb to the dome light.

 

Humm, sorry to inform you I did do the research . You offer a 30 day warranty . (Your led looks like the far eastern style that blows out quickly) You put up no spec's ??

Thanks for the info. I've actually been having flickering issues with my jumpers led's. I might have to check those out. They look very directional though.

 

There's a few posts about them here on the forum . I could find no complaints at all on the internet . I also like the duel body ballast/resister the dome is mounted to. They look a lot like the aircraft grade lights I use at work .. I'm a factory repair mechanic for Embraer aircraft .

I look at it this way . We are all just trying to make are trucks nicer and spend the least amount of money doing it .
Some are more passionate about it than others . But, We still all have the same goal . Once the information is out there it's up to the reader to decide what they want to do .

My LEDS from Putco. Put into my 11' DC then swapped into my 13' Access cab.

 

The LEDs I buy of Vleds and superbright LEDs have done well. Oldest one is in my dad's truck and is still running strong 1.5 years later. I'm sure these are a little better quality but I could never justify spending nearly $40 for LEDS.

Has anyone seen any green Putco LED's anywhere? I need Green specifically. If I can't find that, will end up getting white and placing a green lens over. Working on a cockpit mod.

The kit includes the map lights and is very easy to install. These Putco LEDs, though somewhat expensive, are much brighter and truer white than than the factory bulbs; but not so bright that they are blinding. A subtle but worthy mod and one that I would recommend.

What a ripoff, I paid 8 bucks for my 36 led panel. Your money to spend op.

 

Agreed... eBay 36 LED panels plus adapter for $5 shipped.

Get 4 of them for $12. Who needs a warranty fit that price? The one in my Taco is very bright, does the gradualast dim, and has worked flawlessly since June...
