    Soooo jelly!! That's awesome man!!

Not a fan of Airflow? They're made to fit our truck without any mods unlike the Hilux model. I, personally, am waiting to see that Safari will come up with and then I will decide.

You've got the order wrong I believe. Shock, washer, bushing, frame, bushing, washer, nut. Idk where the tin piece is but you got the bottom washer and bushing mixed up.

    That's awesome!! Well done Ash!

No snorkel fits our trucks without modifications. They all require cutting a hole in the fender and drilling into the a pillar.

If you're inferring you need to modify the snorkel to fit our trucks, that's not true. I've had a hilux snorkel on my truck for almost 4 years. You don't need to modify it.

The airflow one looks hideous, as does the Tacoma specific one arb (safari snorkel) is releasing soon. If they used the same design as the hilux one but followed the fender better it would be perfect. Instead it's this big bulky piece of plastic bolted to the fender.

The location it comes through the fender is important too. With the hilux one you can go right through where the stock air hole is. I'm not sure if the other options allow that but I'm pretty sure I've seen people have to cut a hole in the inner fender near the firewall for one of the snorkels.

    Just my opinion...

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
I have an Airflow and you aren't 100% there Jlink...

    1) You do not need to mount the A pillar bracket. I didn't and mine moves as much as Ckeene 's with said bracket...my pillar not getting an holes.

    2) The Airflow is also actually designed for the N/A 4.0 vice the Hilux which is designed for a Diesel 2.0....The plumbing on the Airflow is large, very large and it stays pretty consistent through the tract before it goes into the stock airbox.

My money goes to Airflow, it's designed for the Tacoma, for our engine and Fuck ARB/Safari for not making a snorkel in the first place and then 10 years after the truck comes out show a teaser.

Ok so #1 doesn't count because people run the safari without attaching to the A pillar too. Point is that it's designed to be attached there.

#2 smarter people than me decided the sizing and shape of the snorkels, but a ram air intake with an internal size similar to the stock air box tubing still yields more air intake than the stock air intake... And that's not even the point of having a snorkel.

I have seen trucks that safari snorkels look good on and ones they look bad on. Same thing with airflow. I honestly think it is one of those items that needs the right truck to look good. As to the performance of the two I have heard good and bad about both.

BTW Chux, finally got your rack and it is going to PC tomorrow. I will be sending you the extra bars as you mentioned in our last pm's/emails.

Safari snorkel FTMFW. I never had any air intake issues with the one for the hilux, the airflow one is stupid cuz you have to cut the core support out. That's a structural part of the crumple zone in the cab, not so sure that's a smart thing to be hackin away at.

 really fucking stoked on getting the rack! Getting the light bar, Peli box, TREDs, and Rotopax on the roof will not only clear out my bed space but bring the truck to a whole new level. Much appreciated for the extra rails.

And thanx for all the snorkel advice guys. I've always been a fan of the Safari and think I'm goin to go with my gut. Wheres the best place to order??

If you order from kurt ask him if he has started discounting them yet. I know he made a post on ExPo that as the time drew closer for the new safari snorkels specifically for the tacoma, the hilux retrofits would be discounted to clear them out. I am waiting for that to happen and then will probably pick one up.
