Replacing Fog Lamps with LED Pods?

Looking to purchase aftermarket bumper for my Taco, ideally with fog light cutouts.

My question is:

Can I wire a set of pods to the stock fog lamp switch? Is the stock wiring a thick enough gauge? And does the stock fuse hold that kind of amperage?

Yes you can. LED lamps will pull a lot less amps then the stock lamps.

 

are the stock wires similar gauge to RIGID lamps?

is it an easy solder?

 

If you wire it up through a relay it won't matter because you choose the size of the power wires. You can use the fog switch as the trigger for the relay.

 

Forgive me for my lack of electrical knowledge..

Basically I can cut off the stock fogs off... solder pods to cut wires. drive truck ?

This is basically what I did. I bought these from Amazon.

I wired up my rigid duallys using the stock fog light wiring. I also replaced the stock fog light switch with an OTRATTW rocker. You need to order a rocker switch that has top and bottom independant leds to make the switch lighting work with the stock fog wiring because it uses a switched ground. The factory wiring is sufficient and will work good.

 

Do you still have the stock switch? I'll buy it from you if you aren't gonna use it.

 

I need to go look for it and make sure i didn't ding it up when I took it out.

Do any of y'all use the non-legal ones on the road? If so have you gotten pulled over or ticketed. I don't know if it's worth it cause I just want to light the road more. I don't go "off-road" all that much (maybe once a month). Worth it to try the non-road legal ones?
