2009 TRD Off Road 4x4... Mine does it. 99% sure it's related to a/c compressor either when a/c is on OR defrost is selected. I've just made a habit of holding the break down firmer at stops and don't really notice it any more.

Fro CS people, the answer has been given more than once. This is fact, not a debate.

OP look up the wire mod, or learn to be aware enough to keep your foot firmly on the brake, or turn off the a/c or defrost.

The rest... those who still want to answer questions long after the question has been answered... go back, read from the start, and stop adding confusion for the OP.

I have gotten used to it, my girlfiend who drove my truck around is not. I will check the other threads though just in case.

Next time at a light, stop sign... etc. turn off the a/c, or if off, move the selector dial from either of the two defrost settings. You will feel and hear the engine idle drop, and you will no longer have to keep you foot mashed down on the brake.. your truck will no longer feel like it's trying to take off.

This is a well known idiosyncrasy of the second gen Tacoma.

So get used to and expect it, or do the wire mod.

    Frank
