Had a good time. Met Tim and his better half. Tim showed me how to get there, and the 'lay of the land'. Interesting place. They were primarily mountain biking on top, while I played around on the creek bed.

Didn't take too many photos, though. Here's a few:

I say we get a camping trip out together for early spring. If we get it going now we'll all have enough time to plan.

    Its a 20"

Gold lake is awesome. We even went back a few months ago and it was cold.

    The write up is below

    Gold Lake Trip

Drove up to gold lake on friday with another TW buddy and a Jeep.

    002_f8d1c63d8e5bd5568fbb589373d6715c80a2c67d.jpg

The weather was nice on arrival. We had easy wheeling into camp and we picked a nice spot on the lake.

We setup camp and sat around the fire. In the morning it started raining and half the camp was out hunting. We quickly setup up the pop up and started a fire but the rain turned to snow.

Then we had a flooding issue. The 1 ground tent in the group was in a giant puddle also the area under the pop up was flooding so we dug some channels for the water.

Our dog decided he didnt like the rain or snow and wanted to be in the warm tepui

We spent the rest of the day sitting by the fire, going out on wood runs, and staying dry.

The sun came out sunday morning though.

We packed up camp and went wheeling and shooting.

All in all it was a fun trip. We got to test are winter camping abilities and spend some time just relaxing by a fire and enjoying good company.
