I have a 2015 Tacoma TSS 4 Door. It has the Entune Audio Plus, which has everything ecept Navigation, which is included in the Entune Audio Premium. Is there a way to add navigation to Entune Audio Plus?

I don't believe so. When I purchased my 2014 EC it came with Entune Plus also. I ended up replacing it with an Entune Premium unit (w/Nav). I am pretty sure there is no way to add Nav to Entune Plus.

I have the entune with navigation. A better work around would be to ducttape your iphone/android to the dash, it will work better then the ghetto-slow-as-hell toyota navigation and it only sets you back the cost of the tape.

This cannot be done. You have to replace the head unit with a Navigation enabled head unit.

TacomaMike37 is right. The Entune Premium with Navigation is pretty lousy (I have it too). You're better off to find a nice mount for your phone for navigation.

Everyone has an opinion. My opinion is the Entune Nav works very well and I am extremely happy with it. It integrates well with the other Entune features and I don't fine it slow or sluggish in the least bit. Just my 02 cents.

If you don't currently use Google Maps Navigation on your smart phone, do yourself a favor and get it.

It is, by far, the fastest and most accurate form of navigation if you're in an area where you need that sort of thing.

For everything else there's Cammenga, a topo map and LandNav school.

Yeah I was being a bit over dramatic. I like the entune functionality, in particular pandora, works great.

The nav is a bit behind its competitors though( honda is much better). The input screen is pretty ridiculous when it comes to imputing address's and very counterintuitive with some other functions as well.

If you like it,great! The only person you have to please is you. Personally, I think it sucks. It's light years behind in tech. I use my iPhone. It's faster and easier. I don't use any of the entunes apps either. They are on the same level of suck as the nav. Why would I Bluetooth my phone just to use the apps on the HU when I could just use my phone and save time? Useless!

Pandora app is pretty good. I would give that a shot if you are into music and what not. Streams pretty solid and the signal doesn't degrade as much compared to the usb jack.

I have Pandora app on my iPhone's, Macs and iPads. Works great. Siri, boom, songs. No need for HU input. Opentable is a joke. Again, Siru, yelp app, boom, results.

Using the HU is a work around at best.

I will say that using HU for phone is very good. My previous vehicle and others I have used are weak in comparison. Even my CX9 HU which is better in all things is not as good at hands free phone.

That's great that you're happy with it. Saying it was lousy wasn't enough of an explanation of how it's inferior.

Let me try to set expectations realistically...If you've used a modern navigation unit, like a Garmin or navigation on a modern day smartphone, will most likely be disappointed at the responsiveness of the Entune Navigation.

As for the Entune Apps, I've never seen anything drain my phone's battery faster than having the Entune App running on my phone. With Bluetooth, you can stream any app from your phone to play on the head unit, so Entune Apps isn't necessary, and will save your phone's battery life.

There is another thread where a member, FLTrucks, is selling OEM 2014 (or maybe 2015 models now) Entune audio w/Nav radios... http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n.../298745-oem-2014-tacoma-navigation-radio.html From what I understand, the radio should probably be plug-n-play on your model. There are plenty of folks in that thread that have ordered from him and upgraded their radios. I'm considering doing the same in the near future. You might want to ask if anyone in that thread has done a 2015 yet, or perhaps PM FLTrucks and see if he is selling 2015 radio units now. Sounds like he's pretty busy though so it might take a few days for him to reply if you PL him directly.

I did one of FLTruck's upgraded units, and it is a 2015 radio with the clock in the touch screen display. Hindsight, I would have been better off saving $450 and keeping my head unit, though I was able to sell the old head unit for about $300, so it really only cost me $150. I never use the navigation on it, though, because it's very slow at inputting destination.

I purchased my Entune w/Nav from FLTrucks and it was completely plug and play for my 2014. Btw, the transaction was top notch. I have since read on his thread that he does in fact supply for 2015 models.

Slow input is why I rate it at suck. Once you get the destination plugged in, it is good. But my life is such that destinations change, I travel and need to input on the fly. I don't have the time to pull over, input then get back on the road.

I used to use a Tom Tom unit. Then one of the people I consult for gave me a garmin since that's what they use. I bought both apps and just use my iPhone or iPad mini. I like apple.

My next HU will be Apple CarPlay.

I have a Galaxy S5, and while the GPS is responsive, I have yet to find a Navigation app that provides both the function and usability of my five (or is it six) year old Garmin nuvi. The Nav system in the Entune Audio is supposedly based on Garmin. I don't know that anyone has absolutely verified that yet. As for the speed of the unit, I have no idea. But having used the Nav on the Ford sync system, I can't imagine anything being slower than that. And function-wise, it (Ford sync Navigation) is even worse than most smart phone Navigation apps. And the Mercedes Nav requires you to be at a complete stop to enter a new destination, as well.

Have you tried Waze? It's social navigation. You are alerted to traffic jams, police ahead, photo radar, objects and cars on the road, etc. People report things in their journey, and you are notified based on that information. Google bought Waze a year or 2 ago. It's a free app on iOS and Android.
