    Hey all,

Not trying to stir up any bad memories but I'm wondering if the kits many of you have installed are working? Has it been a long term solution? How much does the installation of one of these kits run?

The reason I ask is because I'm in the market for a used Taco but I'm a little wary about jumping into a six speed if there is no fix for this issue.

    Thanks for your time.

So what I want to know is anybody getting warranty on these multiple bearing issues.mine went the first time at 40,000 km and it's making the death sound again after 80,000 kms and Sunrise Toyota in Abbotsford BC said that I would have to pay for this repair because it was replace under warrenty once already which is BS.i have not called Toyota head office in Canada but they will probably blame me excessive driving
    Thanks guys help me out

Had mine chirping for well over a year, maybe even two by now. Is it ok to just wait until the clutch needs to be replaced and then do everything at the same time? I'm thinking going with the URD/PDM TSK45 kit.

Or should this be resolved right away? If that is the case, do I possibly have irreversible damage done driving it for 30k+ miles in this condition? The chirp is lame, but the truck is an 07 with 100k miles, so I guess I can live with the noise if it is ok to wait until clutch needs to be replaced...

Is there an OEM Toyota solution for this apart from the URD kit by now? Or is the URD kit still the best bet?

Lastly, what are all the parts that I will need for the T/O bearing fix with the URD/PDM kit and how much should I budget for the the whole fix? (Parts & labor)

So I had the URD TOB and there clutch NOT through Toyota and this with some tech buddy's,so when went to pick it up I asked him for the old bearing and he gave it to me and no sleeve like Toyota said was installed as there new up graded bearing and further more the lube they used had solidified and he had to chip it off,not pleased with there BSing, going to send letter off to them I'm not going to talk to them they're all the same model of robot,so here's the part number of the replacement bearing #31230-60241 for those of you who have had a number of replacements done,
so the clutch is heavier then the stock one so must get used to that and the fact that it grabs like right now but so far feels good.So don't trust them when they it's fixed, what a bunch of putzes (toyota) enough said

I'm confused now, what parts did you install then? URD kit or the revised OEM one (#31230-60241) from the TSB?

Got the URD sleeve kit installed as well as Exedy clutch and so far I'm very happy how it turned out. Granted it is not my daily driver anymore and I've done only about 1500 miles since, but the squeak is gone presumably saving my transmission quill and the clutch feel went from dump truck like to very car like. Looking back, probably should have installed a short throw shifter kit while they were at it...

Bump. Exactly, does anybody know if the URD kit works on the 4 cylinder Tacoma? The URD description only mentions the 6 cylinder.

I purchased a 2010 4 cylinder Tacoma brand new. After 3.25 years my chirping began at only 18K miles. Dealer replaced with new part#'s under "goodwill", as the bearing isn't covered by the power train warranty and the TSB only applies to the 6 cylinder. Now after 4.5 years it's chirping again at only 23K miles. This time around dealer says I'm SOL although they recognize the issue is persistent and not fixed.

This seems very unreasonable to me, almost criminal, I'm quite frustrated.
