So that you don't fling mud/rocks/sand down the whole side of the truck. I have shortened mud flaps and because of them, i get a line of mud from the middle of my front doors all the way back to the rear tires

I have installed many, many tie down rings under each bolt in the rails... but MOST importantly - I figured out how to contain all of my little "stuff". I need to carry and access hand tools, electrical supply parts (solder, wire, crimp connectors), and project parts. I mostly keep the cover closed on my G4 Elite tonneau. I found Flambeau Zerust Dry Boxes and use them for this type thing. I slotted a couple of the most frequently ised boxes and secured them to the D-rings with a carabiner.

    [IMG][IMG]
If I need to use the tools away from the truck, the lids snap right back on. They are water resistant (O-Ring around the lid) and have a small storage area on the lid as well as a lift out tray.
Along the front of the bed, beneath the first section of the G4 cover, I put the other boxes with more stuff.

They fit great between my Jump/Compressor box and my Draw Bar. The large boxes were $10 on sale at TSC and the small ones were $6 at Essex/Bargain Hunt.

What $20 bench seat cover? The lab has been banned from the Taco until we have leather seats or covers for the cloth. It only took two days from purchase to ban...

Put a bottle opener in the bed with a magnet below it that catches bottle caps. I sprayed both with the same bed liner that I redid my bed with so it looks real nice.

There are several dog platform mods on the board that are cheap and simple.
    Here are a couple:

The local feed store gets stall mats in on Thursday. The dog will be comfortable in the bed at that point. She still has two leather clad vehicles for rides until then.

There's only one problem with a platform. I have too many kids to go that route.

For now I have read through this entire thread, and have built a to-do list from it and others that will keep me busy for a long while...but appreciate learning of some of the other options out there. Thanks!
