actually thanks to a fellow tw member with a broken mirror of his own I got the plastic arm thingie for 25 bucks total instead of having to buy a whole new assembly. :)

not unless you want to drill and insert steel rods into it.

I know that they are somewhat maligned here on TW for some reason, but my first major "mod" for my Tacoma. Yes, it's a freshly installed bullbar on a very dirty, stock 4 cylinder, 2wd, base Tacoma access-cab. So sue me!

"APS Bullbar" .. was cheap on Amazon, so i took a chance on it. Seems good for what it is, straight-forward mounting, and definitely heavily built. I wonder what effect they'll have on front shock wear and tear.. it might've just been the congested commute home, but the truck seems to dip in the front a bit more, under braking.

It's a 99.9% highway/commuter and shopping vehicle. People can't park worth shit around these parts, and I have already had to do a pick-axe realignment of the front bumper and cover, due to parking-lot pricks. Twice.

Perhaps it'll also give insufficient space lane-changers a second thought of reflection when they see it in their rear-view.. or it'll just make 'em laugh.

Long term plan is to get the 2.75/1.75" lift kit, and 16" wheels, and install when shocks start sagging, and tires give out a few more km's down the road.

The reason we don't like em is if someone hits you or you hit something they bend up and do more damage.

But if you're happy alls good

Did the old LED upgrade. The front map lights are 5x SMD 5050 LEDs in Cool White. The rear dome light is a 36x SMD 5050 panel in Cool White as well. I wanted there to be a lot of light form the dome so it can illuminate the entire cab. This saves me from doing the map light door open rewire. Overall its quite a nice look. I got the bulbs from Ebay, overall cost maybe 5 bucks in total. I have to say its some of the best money I have spent on a car.

Ahh, well, i can see how that can happen.

If it does, well, that's what insurance is for. Or a Tacoma body armor setup like this, in replacement. Sort of an upping of the parking lot arms-race.. My rear bumper already has a nicely dished external face due to some numpty-bumping going on.. it'd be pretty goofy looking with those baja style body bits, sort of like a HMMV had it's way with a Willy's Jeep kind of goofy, with my base Tacoma.

(furiously) Knocking on wood, i'll continue to be reportable accident-free, 18 years running now... but the insurance co. would like to say that "i'm due for one".
