Here's what I did on my old non-toyota truck when I made new front and rear bumpers... Get cardboard and masking tape. Make what you thing looks good out of it including the mounting brackets. I even hung them on the truck to get the fit just right. Then carefully cut it apart and use the cardboard as a template.

That's going to get me a lot of stuff I don't need, as I already have. I was just trying to get simple some pics. For ideas.

Hey man. Just a pic of the bumper I built. It's kind of a hybrid style bumper, tube with plate fillers. Nothing too special or fancy but I like the way it looks and it's functional.

As far as home brew it can be as easy or as complicated as you want. Looking at other bumpers whether they are home build or company build you going to get ideas for yours. You can take some from one and add some from another to get what you want. It's really a matter of how much time you're willing to put into the project. You can go fast and easy or more time and build something that looks like it was build by a company. I just didn't want to mess with cutting a full plate bumper out with a cutting wheel on a grinder. I bought my pieces of a factory bumper and welded them together to get what I liked. I saved about half of the price by doing that. Trust me, cutting stuff out isn't the fun part, welding it is.

Plus it you want tube you are going to have to have some way to bend it. Tubing benders aren't cheap and most at least around here either won't mess with a small job or charge a lot to do it.
