What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I can only assume the factory plugs were gapped to ~0.4, but when I pulled them, they were up to ~0.55. I'm not sure what the max effective gap is, but I was surprised to see that big of a change in only 30k miles.

I got rid of the strut spacers and installed 5100's. I set them at 1.75 but now the front end sits a touch lower then it used to. The ride is 100% better from what it used to be so that's good. I can live with the slight rake for now but I think once summer rolls around Im going to set them at 2.5. Im also going to install a pair of Eibach coils to help ease the stiffness that setting the billys at 2.5 would cause.

 

If your going to get new springs why not get some that provide the 2.5" of lift instead of loading your 5100s? It'll ride much better.

No worries. I'm partial to OME so I would suggest an 885 spring for 2.5" and they aren't too expensive.

Agreed, get the OME885's and set the Billies to 0. You should be level. At the end of the day I would prefer a slight rake vs. the truck squatting a tiny bit. This ain't a big ole chevy after all lol.

Moved my knife to a better location and easier to grab

 

Installed ABS switch for snowy roads and mud. Had to modify the switch insert with a dremel wheel to fit a toggle with a race cover. Had the wire around so only cost $14 cause i needed tape and some splicers.

Also ordered up some new 10mm hex magnetic plugs (like the ones on the front dif) to replace the 24mm ones on the tranny, rear dif and transfer case. People have done it on older pickups and 1st gens so figured i'd try it out. $2 ea for plugs and $1 for crush washers, $18 for everything.

 

Didn't know you could switch ABS.
