BGR has one of those on his 4runner and when we were camping a few months ago I was looking at it. Looked cool but he had bent it from hitting something with it I think

While I'm on the thought, how hard is it to remove a swingout from a rear bumper? I would almost never carry it around except when on a trip so I want something that would be easy to get out of the way. If it's not that hard I'll start hoping for a minor bumper to bumper accident that could get me a bumper with swingout

Removing the swing out on a bushing style spindle is a pain in the ass. Plus it's heavy as fuck if you have stuff mounted on it. I removed mine a few months ago to add a zerk fitting to grease it up and make it move easier. I lifted the rear tires off the ground with a hi lift jack trying to pop the swing out off the spindle.

If you don't want the tire sticking out the back you can (with cbi atleast) mount the tire carrier on the bed side of the swing out if you remove the tailgate. Or you should do the tire gate that replaces the tailgate like lurry has.

Just sucks to lose the tailgate.

That's my only dislike about the tiregates. I love the way they look and that the tire doesn't stick back so far. Idk. Like everything else, it'll be on my mind for a week, then something else will take its spot and I won't think about it anymore.

Nice shovel mount on the toolbox. What brand is it and where did you buy it? Thanks
