Okay, so my Hankooks have about 1/4" of tread left. I think it's about time to look at new tires since the corners are rounding off and my bonus is coming in soon. I'm hearing a lot of good things about the Cooper ST Maxx. Has anyone ran them for a while? What are your thoughts?

I'm thinking about going with a 265/70/r17 size on my Tacoma. The truck has a 2.5" lift. Anyone going any larger with these and not have a ton of rubbing?

I'm also considering the Toyo C/T as well.

I was going to go with these until I found they run small. Pretty much everything I heard about them was good, only negatives were due to coopers older tires.

To make up for them running small I'm starting to debate 255/80/r17. I have rubber mud flaps since they're a rule at work, do you think they'll fit?

I believe Oz has researched that pretty extensively. Ya might send him a PM

I am guessing they might if you are on stock backspacing/offset and UCA's. Otherwise????

I have 255/80/17's, they are 32" on the truck @ 32psi. I rub my mud flaps even after trimming them... I might be able to get the tire forward next alignment just enough...
I am running 1.25" spidertrax though. No way they would rub without but they hit my UCA for whatever reason...

I'm trying to get some "actual tire measurements" vvv

Oh no! I didn't realize I was in a canadian thread! And now you guys called the o? Fuck!

    HAHA

I know nothing of what will fit 2nd gens, I know 1st gen guys don't have to trim much for tall skinnies. From my research 255/85/16s are around 32.5-32.75" if I remember correctly whereas KM2s are 33" and some

How are you rubbing the UCA with 255's when I'm not with 275's ?

I have the AT3s and love them, you can go to 275-70 17 with no real rubbing... My buddy has the ST Maxx on his tundra and loves them.... the AT3 is more of street tire with stiff side walls and the maxx is more 50/50 has much more flex and great Kevlar.... Every one loves them..... Both tires are good on and off road in all terrain rain and snow....

    We had this discussion...

I think it's a combination of how my LR UCA's are set and the fact that when I had my 275's they were at least half worn, so about 1" shorter. My 275's fit by a C hair so I think full tread they may have rubbed. I'll post a pic of my UCA.

The only place I rub is my mud flaps. I have to run them in the winter so it's something I'll have to deal with. I'm going to look for some aftermarket flaps that aren't so damn thick and protrude into the wheel well so much.

I do like the stance better though with the spacers and think they may have looked to set in without them.

See the overhang of the arm over the ball joint mount? Not sure if that's normal.

Looks like your camber slide adjustment is inward quite a bit too

What caster setting do you have the arms set at ?

They were supposed to have been set at 2. I bought them lightly used.

These will be me next set of tires hands down. I would have already bought a set but I just had to have a M/T.
