Matt is correct on his stock leaf spring knowledge

I feel like its not a noticeable difference at all, both of those stock leaf packs are recalled on 05-11 tacomas, not sure why they aren't on the 12-15s.

My opinion here, so don't hate me  merely trying to help...
Do yourself a favor, if you plan to keep the cap/shell/topper on all the time and haul stuff regularly, get better leaf springs than stock or something like firestone riderite adjustable air bags. If the previous owner of my truck had done either of those, the cap wouldn't have made these stock leafs almost completely worn out at only 45k miles.

Its better now that the cap is not on there, but they still sag when there is 200lbs or more in the bed. :(

TW is here to help

You're good man, no worries :). I plan on lifting pretty soon, and putting a progressive leaf pack in the back. These stock leafs are crappy, but I figured an additional leaf would be better than the 3 that are in there, until I lift. Thanks for the heads up!

Do any wheeling in the snow today? Could the jack be flipped over so as not to advertise it so much or could it be mounted to the front rail? Just wondering. Pics will be good.

I could turn it over but it's not as flush that way and I also took the base off and put in the ammo can in the bed. And did about 4hrs of wheeling today and no problems.. Still tight

To TXTaco13, its just a simple lock and I am sure it's only gonna keep the honest people honest.. If they want it and need to steal it that bad then they need it worse than me!
And I was just testing it out I will move it further up the actual jack and not through the end thats just bolted on.

I've seen some kits that allow you to bolt it to the side rail and lock it. I'm trying to come up with a way to do it without buying mounting plates that are expensive. Thanks for the pic!

I have seen them to and been to the hardware store about 5-6 times already ready. If I find a way to do so I will let you know.

You had better be damn sure the adhesive backing on that LED strip isn't going to get all melty on you when you reheat the headlight housings to re-assemble them. Even with the temperatures that the headlights will reach being exposed to direct sunlight all day, I'd be iffy about doing that.

I think it will add a nice touch, aesthetically, though.

Ultra-gauge, extra bed D-rings, pop-n-lock, backflip tonneau cover, L-Track bed tie downs, Tech-Deck, mirror riser, and Relentless Fab Tailgate plate
today I got off work early and it was time to do finish some upgrades. Wednesday I finished the Relentless-Fab tailgate mod, here is that pic
    IMG_2853.jpg

I decided that it was time to get rid of the Pluto dog ear mud flaps and cut them down to a reasonable size. I took off 5".
    IMG_2856.jpg
    IMG_2860.jpg

After the front mud flaps were finished. they took less than 30 mins for both sides. it was time to add some more "L-track" to the bed.
    IMG_2863.jpg
Enough upgrades for a late Friday afternoon.

My ultra-gauge MX1.4 upgrade shipped yesterday. I might have something to do tomorrow.

Luckily it's not being held by the adhesive backing but by rubber butyl. Think it should be a little more secure. I was worried about the same problem

If you're still concerned with it, you could drill holes on both sides of the strip in a few places and secure it with a small gauge wire.
