cost isn't the issue. I am running the best of everything on this. the biggest reason is I want of the shelf axel shafts. to make the rear wider would involve retuning the axel. not a huge deal but the axel shafts would need to be 3/4" longer per side. as they sit right now it will take a 36.5" 35 spline axel shaft that I can find in most off road shops have overnighted from Branik or ECGS. I don't plan to fail but if it does then I want to be back up and running ASAP. driving out to Moab from NC is a long haul and and a failure of a custom made axel could leave me sitting for several weeks.
the worst that can happen with the spacer is the wheel studs snap off. I am caring 16 spare ;) they are cheap and can be changed with a hammer

That's ironic because I was just thinking about that the other day and was wondering how easily you can get axle shafts if you change the width of the axle. Good to know. Definitely seems like you're doing it a smart way.

36.5" 35 splibe shafts are stocked in both alloy and 4130 by east coast gear supply. I would put my faith in an awesome vendor with stuff in stock way before a super expensive, stronger, and blingy custom 300m shaft.
For the record my front is a factory width 78-79 ford kingpin hi-pinion 60 and almost every 4wheel parts in the country carry axels for it....not that they are an awesome vender

Damn just realized your less than a hour away from me! Maybe we can all get together and wheel sometime. After I sas of course... That way I don't get left in the dust lol.

You really don't see this nice of builds over here on the east coast very often. Seems like most the big bad sas rigs are on the west coast. Can't wait to see this rig in person!

any one that wants to swing into the shop and check it out is more than welcome. We just had a major sale get brokered and we will be building both the bomber that we had in stock as full turn key rigs.

As far as the kit it is still on my plate and I am still planning to fallow through with it. my time line has gotten a lithe stretched out. I will obviously need to make sure every thing is perfect on mine before I am ready to go full bore into a kit
