I'll not be doing them first on Igor. Suspension first. Then sliders and skids. Then build bumpers. Maybe. Idk.

    Probably not haha

I need to find a pair of rear springs now. Putting my storage box in and filling it and now adding the roof rack. My springs are hitting the bump stops and that aint no fun. So I figure I will go with a +2" lift on rear and maybe later this summer add it to the front also. I was thinking add a leaf but my springs I believe are pretty shot. Ideas??

You'll need new ones first. Think Dakars are really your only option besides custom alcans.

I'm for new leaf springs over the add-a-leafs. They're just going to band-aid the problem for a year or two at most. Ask me how I know... Haha

Thanks, I don't regret building the way I have...except not having skids haha. The stock bumper looks better than a plate bumper with 32's sooo I am happy. It's gonna look mean when I finally let them 35's show.

And the second money pit starts . Better plant that second money tree this summer.

Ok I could not seem to locate a spring for my odd ball truck so I called JK customs here in Missoula. I was there the other day BSing with them. They are going to call ARB in the morning and make sure what I need. Nice part is they will price match internet pricing. I would really like to support my local shops. I guess that's just the old fart in me.

Speaking of bumpers, finally saw your new bumper Mike. Looks bitching. Nice work guys. I really dig the fold down table, makes me want to incorporate something like that onto mine.

Monte, what do you think about these aluminum skids?

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...n-studio-light-duty-aluminum-skid-plates.html

I am not in the market right now but it got me thinking about what to look for in the future. I obviously don't smash the piss out of my truck. Nor do I hit my skids very often...heck I have the stock one still hanging on haha.

Saving weight but still having the protection incase I did hit something seems nice. I am unsure of how strong 1/4'' aluminum is though.

Don't do aluminum skids. They gouge easily, aren't repaired easily, and 1/4" aluminum is not enough for a skid plate that's actually gonna get used.

Hmm, so not super strong but could handle the light load. Probably not something I want to protect the front diff but maybe the other skids.

Well, it won't get used heavily but I have my dumb moments . Ill just stick with steel for the IFS skid. Cheaper too

If you were a mall crawler and only used your skids once a year, I'd say go ahead and try aluminum skids. But if you actually plan on wheeling and getting put in the situation where your trucks skid plate will be protecting you on rocks...steel all the way!

Eh, not worried about being put in a situation in wyoming. Outside of maybe christina lake where that big ol boulder is after the river.

Then of course I am trying to find someone to come do this with me :p...so ya Ill just stick with steel

Speaking of which, if you're in WYO you can come run it with me.

No guarantee if I can come for another 4-5 weeks. Should make enough money to get gears and locker installed before Wyoming trip if so! Not sure if I'd risk wheeling while on a work trip...in case something breaks ya know?.. But if I change my mind.. I'll run it with you!

No shit...sheesh...although so far, the suspension overall will be fairly cheap!...sorta...ish..

Dakar makes a spring for you. Trust me. I'll find it for you.

Thanks man! Table is just like mine. Better better cable though and hinge design.

    Yea..what ben said.

    You'll want steel, trust me.

The best bang for the buck is the 4xinovations skids my dad has.

I wanna do that. It's just so damn far.

And you'll need skids on shoshone now too. It was soooo much worse then the year you ran it. Like a lot worse.

I know. But after that super wet winter the run off really tore it up and the traffic.

Ben was much much more nervous this go around and used his stock skid a lot and sliders...and diff...and probably transfer case crossmember...a lot haha it is nothing like it was when you went. Ever from when I ran it with just Marc in July to August with ben and mike it was worse then I'd ever been on it.

Shit gets tore up man. Just how it goes. Still killer fun.

Here is a lift kit for pretaco!

DAng, I cant afford that. SO I am going to have to settle for springs for the moment. Thank you for the link
