diesel engine?

does toyota make a diesel engine to swap for a 2.4

 

Not for North America I don't think. Mexico might have them, but I know for sure there are some in Central and South America, they use them in the Hilux.

 

Mexico no longer offers the 2.5 or 3.0L D4D engines as many areas in Mexico have adopted United States model vehicles.

In Central America (and everywhere else but the US/Canada/Mexico) you can get a Toyota Hilux (sorta like a Tacoma) with either one of these engines. You can also get a Land Cruiser with a V8 Turbo Diesel.

Being an huge diesel fan - I will be trading in my Tacoma for a diesel Tacoma as soon as it hits the market (and my pocket book can afford it).
