Hi everyone, I found a few threads on this a that were a couple years old for 3rd gen’s but wanted to see if anyone else has still seen this recently. Brand new 2023 SR5 with only 2300 miles and my front driver window rattles like crazy if it’s rolled down an inch or two. Half way down or more too, just not all the way down or when it’s up. Has anyone else seen this on their new truck? Has the dealership been able to fix it? I saw some folks were able to fix it by removing the triangle piece at the front of the door and putting felt underneath. Just wanted to check since it’s only a couple months old.

Mine makes a little rattle noise when I have the window a few inches down and hit dirt roads at speed. The dirt roads I live on get pretty rough though to be fair.. ‘23 with 11k now. Hasn’t bothered me enough to goto dealer, I thought it seemed normal given all the factors

I threw this rattle in with the few wonky body lines and list of other imperfections I noticed from factory when I bought it that make it my perfect truck lol

Yeah, take it in. It’s good to have problems documented in case you need further repairs in that area.

Yeah. It does seem to have something to do with the corner piece, because once the glass is rolled down past that it doesn’t happen anymore. Also, nice truck in your picture! I also have a red SR5, I love the color.

Thanks yeah I love the red. You’ll most likely have get used to a lot of little annoyances about the tacomas

I wouldn't bother with the dealership. I had this issue early on and had the dealership try to look at it. They determined a clip on my lower trim was broken and figured that was the issue. They replaced it and it didn't fix the issue. Never tried the above solution though.

thanks. Yeah as long as it’s not just me it makes me feel better. Sounds like it’s that corner piece and if that’s all then it’s fine. The first time I heard it I was afraid my window was going to fall down into the door and break or something lol.

Rattle or squeak? Mine will squeak where the rubber door seal meets the body. I slightly rub a little baby power or corn starch on the rubber and it fixes it.

    Stock... for now.
Good to know I'm not alone with the window rattle. Just got mine, so it is only just under 2500 on the odometer. Will have them check it out during the first service. Nice to see there have been fixes within the community if it continues.

Definitely a rattle, I haven’t heard any squeaks.
