For those that have the color matched rear bumpers, are you running a black license frame or Inferno matched frame? I know this sounds silly but I'm curious to know what it looks like with the inferno frame. Also anyone in CA have the black retro plates on their Inferno?

Thanks for the photos! I have personalized whale tail plates that I'll probably keep. Black frame it is...

I bought a super sweet TRD OR frame from @rrentrop and it looks good on the rear. It's color matched. IMG_8849.jpg On the front I have this box type mounting bracket and it doesn't quit fit over it, doesn't quite fit inside it. Not sure what I'm going to do with the front yet.

I have one on my front plate. Try inserting the plate into the frame, ensuring the plate is held on by the side tabs on the frame. Then spread the frame and bottom edge of the plate to create a gap and place the plate behind the tabs on the bottom of the bumper mounting bracket.

It does not fit perfectly but having the frame tabs behind the plate and the plate behind the mounting bracket tabs holds the place/frame securely.

Now THAT's exactly what i want right there, expecially for the front. Is there a link to where to purchase these?

Did you take the ugly front plate mounting block off on yours?

Not yet...I am looking for a better option. Got any leads? That thing they put on the front is like a big box.

What prevents it from bouncing or vibrating? It appears the attachment is pretty far down...putting the license plate out on a lever. Just wondering if it makes noise at highway speeds.

What does this one bolt to? I like the fact that it is very low profile...low profile enough I have a hard time seeing how it works!

This is the one I was concerned would bounce...I think it is only attached at the skid plate.

I think it's kind of dumb that the ugly plastic box is the best Toyota could come up with for a front plate mount on trucks this expensive. Ugh...

In the grand scheme of vehicles, this truck isn't that expensive. BMWs and Audis that are more than twice as much still use plastic plate mounts.

Some good resources for all things license plates in this thread. @rrentrop has a great store of products too, I was able to check it out the other day. Haven't ordered my TRD plate but will soon!
