I was tired of hitting the flaps on everything and them being nothing but mud collectors, but still want some protection. I ended up cutting several inches off and love the clearance but when I went fishing the other day the dirt roads dried on the truck like concrete.

I was wondering if anyone has ever cut the flaps and then added some thinner flap to the bottom to still provide the added protection.

If so any Picts and what was used.

    Thanks

I cut 5" off my front flaps and 4" off the back flaps and I have had no mud or dirt worth talking about get on my truck.

I replaced the OEM mudflaps with Husky Mud Guards (shorter than OEM) and couldn't be happier.

When my truck was new, i just made a cardboard template with the mudflap contour.
I then measured the height of the rear and cut the front to match that with a dremel.
High enough to not scrape anything and low enough to deflect most debris.
