    I just added the protect X security on the 2024 Tacoma. It was real easy. I removed 3 screws to drop the cover under the steering wheel. The provided harness connect to 2 connectors under the steering wheel, one black and one white, the the other 2 connect to the unit itself.

    This adds 3 functionalities
    1. Roll down windows
    2. Make an alarm chirp on small window impacts
    3. Turn alarm on upon someone tilting the car.

    Sounds like a reasonable caution as they can't predict which circuit is tapped when someone installs their "must have" uber light. A workaround is to connect the uber sooper dooper light directly to the battery. With appropriate fuses/relays of course. Or not. Their choice.
