    Hey gentlemen,

Had a little issue on my 2017 SR about a week after I got it from the dealer I bought it from used. When accelerating or decelerating, the tachometer and speedometer jump in increments like it’s “sticky.” So instead of a smooth consistent transition, it’ll jump from 65, 70, 75 and back down the same way. Same for RPMs 1500, 2000, 3000, etc.

It’s cpo and took it to my local dealer who informed me its needs to be downed because the entire unit “could be malfunctioned” affecting mileage count which according to them means they can’t release it to me because of CA state law. It’s now been a month because the assembly is on back order from Toyota. Luckily they gave me a free loaner car, but I’m not happy my first payment on the truck will be while it sits at the service department.

Anyone heard of this crap before? My dealer claims it’s first time they’ve ever seen this.

Is that what Toyota will most likely be doing? It’s just baffles me that a part required by LAW to be functioning 100% is on back order for a month now... not happy.

I believe there might have been a TSB for it, recall seeing a few guys on here getting new clusters.

I doubt it too. But with the saved gas, I’m sure to drive this little Corolla like I stole it racking up the mileage lol.

Jerry: Yeah, you better give me the insurance because I'm going to beat the HELL out of this thing.

My RPM gauge needle has a slight bounce or microflutter when I'm light on the throttle at certain RPMs.. Just started happening with 18k miles or so on the truck. My speedo appears to be fine but I will be taking it into the dealer next Friday to have my oil changed + address this.

"While the PDC anticipates a smooth transformation, we will be expecting a larger number of backorder parts once the PDC opens up the flood gates as volume will be extremely high.

We will do our best to help you get the parts you need in a timely matter."

system changes are kind of messing up part orders, at least in Canada. why a lot of stuff is back ordered or shows as back ordered.

That explains it. Well hopefully that’ll all be cleared up if/when this ever happens again so it’s an easy fix and not a month long wait..
