So I installed a new bumper and cut the inner fender off where it mates up. I didn't have the fasteners handy so I placed an order on Amazon. In the meantime the unfastened fender got swallowed and ripped out. I'm considering just leaving it out, but I'm not sure what to do as far as ensuring water doesn't get slung off the tire/splashed into the inlet in the wheel well. I found these threads for making liners, but I'd prefer to just remove both at this point since I'll be LT'ing it in a month or two and switching to fiberglass.

Does anyone have a suggestion or pics of how they kept water out in the meantime?

I considered using tubing like in this thread and just rerouting it somewhere else. Or maybe make some sort of guard to go over the opening.
