I did this, but I carry a spare unbent relay in my center console. That way, I can make a quick switcheroo when I go in for state inspection or otherwise have to become legal in a hurry. :D

Exhaust relocate, tucked it up higher under the tcase. No new exhaust materials used, and maybe a couple dollars in welding wire/gas, a sawzall blade, and 45 minutes of your time.

I am interested in this, been thinking about it for a while but didn't want to pay someone else to do something I can do myself. Got a writeup / pics of where you cut and relocated?

I was just going to suggest the first page has an index by Gen to help find Gen 3... I could spend days reading the 121 page post... and most likely will... ;o)

I get a whole load of crazy comments.. Some funny.. Some pretty bad but it doesn't really matter.. I love my 5 lug.. Here is an easy way to fit 15x10's on 32's without a lift.. In a stock one you can take it to a body shop or do it yourself if you are good with measurements and cutting.. Gutting out the inside fenders and painting and then adding a trim around the edges is an easy way to fit some bigger tires without lifting your 5 lug.. I believe you can fit some 33's but on some 15x8's.. 15x10's on 33's may not reach the turning ratio.. If you were to put the 2.75 leveling kit you can put 15x10's on 33's for sure without any issues.. I had mines and took it out.. My question is.. Can you add 2 sets of leveling kits and get a 5.5 lift on these 5 lugs? I never seen anyone do it or even spoken about it.. It way be possible.. There are a lot of questions and threads about "What's the highest lift" on a 5 lug.. I know we can more than 3" but with the right parts..

For those of us who truly dislike the spare tire hoist chain hanging down (from the secured spare)... simply put a magnet on the top side of the wheel to hold the chain (coiled as well as you can) up & away.

Mine hasn't fallen out in five years; to include going over some very rough terrain and washboard roads. Yet it un-coils without a glitch when I lower the spare.

Okay I will install the pvc as shown above this spring.
I will spray the mechanism a few times before and exercise the lift.

    thanks for the great ideas

I like that PVC tunnel idea! I'm on the look out now for scrap piece with the right dimensions. (Found some but they were all too small.)

I also added a grommet to the crank tool. The grommet, being slotted, fits the sheet metal at the rear bumper (rectangle hole) and does a good job of holding the tool away from (off of) the sheet metal.
I also added a lock between the spare and hoist device.

    Grommet:

Grommet in use: (ignore the zip tie. it's just extra insurance for the 3rd brake light strip double-sided tape.)

    Lock in position:

This was a -free- mod only because my wife had a padded kitchen floor mat she was throwing away. Otherwise it would be -cheap- mod.

I do not see the benefit of having a very expensive and slick tailgate just to have cup holders. I do however, also absolutely HATE those ridges that kill the knees!!

So I cut a padded mat to fit, used double sided tape to hold it, and had to patch a hole with duct tape the same day. But that patch was 3 years ago and it's still holding so...
