box soft roll top cover, electric trailer brake controller, locking tail gate. Removed box soft top roll cover and replaced with a truck box canopy, installed rear air shocks to aid in towing.
We have a '13 tacoma access cab TRD off road V6 rated for 6500lbs. We just bought a KZ Venture Sonic 19'(gvwr 4500lbs dry hitch wt. 330lbs 7'6' wide) which is well within the limits for the tow vehicle. We opted for the Anderson hitch as it seems like a big improvement over the torsion bar system of other equalizer type hitches and so far has proven itself with the added benefit of anti-sway built in. I had firestone air bags installed as well.
Is 50,000 km(30,000miles) a reasonable duration for transmission fluid change?
It would also depend on how much towing is done in any given time period. Also since you use more fuel the fuel filter should be done more often as well. The toyota dealer indicated that it is located in the fuel tank and a back wash is how it is done. Not sure where the back wash contents go. Is that the only option as far as the fuel filter? Any other suggestions?

Your Automatic transmission doesn't require maintenance or fluid changes for 100k miles per the owners manual.

So, I would think....30K is probably premature unless you tow all the time and beat the crap out of it.

Surely, some folks have done a fluid flush/fill early, but I don't think I've heard many (or any) folks doing it that soon on the Automatic.

As for the fuel filter question. That is supposed to be lifetime as well:confused: I know that gas is much cleaner now than it was in the past. I think it is more of a particulate filter, and a backwash would push anything out and it would settle into a low spot not necessarily anywhere near the pickup. I'm at 103K without a filter service, no problems so far, knock on wood:D

Ok, thanks for your comments. I hadn't realized there is no transmission dip stick. Hard to keep an eye on the fluid coloration or level. I plan to tow in 4th gear not overdrive as I understand it is direct drive, correct me if I am wrong. Hopefully the fuel filter will not plug and I will put faith in toyota's maintenance schedules as being adequate. So far it seems to tow ok however I haven't had to deal with too much wind.

After reading the link n+fluid+change I think 60k will be a better choice!
