this is a good point, i didn't even think of the fact that any replacement HU i'll get will most likely have BT and ultimately a phone mic as well. thanks for answering

Agro, do you recall what length RCA cable/interconnect you used? that aside, i'm curious as to why you did not use any sound deadner, and do you regret not using it. i am planning my install now, have the box and amp you used, will be using the c2 coax for rear doors, but c2s instead of c5s up front. undecided on my headunit

12ft RCA's. I am running almost the same setup with C3 components front and rear. Same amp and sub. Running mine off factory non JBL head unit with JL CleanSweep LOC. I would recommend something on the rear cab panel as far as deadner. I have a bad rattle in the passenger side rear cab corner that is bugging the crap out of me.

12 foot yes is good to go
It is possible ignorance is bliss for me. I have no rattles and it sounds super clean. I don't think I'll be adding any sound deadening stuff. Maybe if some day I'm bored as hell but that doesn't seem to be the case these days. Hah

I dynamated nearly my entire cab and the damned plastic pieces in the truck still rattle.... Cant leave anything in the door panels....my weathertec window visors rattled off...my 2-10's hit crazy hard. I have since adjusted the bass output.
Op, just curious why you went with the single 10 vs the 2 10's? Personal preference or is it a better speaker overall?

I do not need major booming insane bass like I did when I was 17. It is already more than I can stand if I turn it to max.

I read that this JL sub is solid hard hitting and it is. The sub box is expensive and some would say overpriced but it sure is a clean install. That is what I desired.

    I hear that.

that must be a newer box...wasnt an option a couple years back when I bought my stealthbox.
ill never run a different subwoofer in my vehicle. Last three all had jl technology inside.
My buddies always want to watch movies in my truck...sounds better than my home theater system.
    nice build, OP.

    Regarding my AppRadio 3...
I'm now using a Google Nexus 5 rather than an iPhone 5 and the experience is totally diff from my video I posted originally . I'll make a new one soon. Very very cool now

Did you bolt the box down per JL instructions?

Yes. The instructions come with the box and jl cab email you if you lost em. You have to remove the plastic storage unit and just a few small things, then re install and bolt to it.

I have all that but didn't bolt it down. Didn't like the look of the hardware and the holes so it's just sitting in there

Did you have to drill a hole for the stealthbox wires?

Yes. A small one just big enough for the wires. No worry in my mind if i removed the box later. If concerned plugs can be bought to fill it.

FYI, the Stealthbox only holds an amp no bigger than the XD700/5. Tried going with the HD900/5 but it was too big. It fit, but then there was no room for the wiring to be connected. But very satisfied, sounds great. Same set up as Argo except I kept the factory head unit in place. Ran me $1700 with install.
