    I'm possibly considering purchasing a cb radio set up. Can anyone recommend some ideas. What will it cost? I'm considering mounting to my wildernest canopy somehow.

    Depends on what you want, theres a lot of choices

    I went with a basic setup: Uniden 520XL, a 4' FireFly antanna and misc parts, it was about $120

    I'm just replacing my freebie CB with a 75wxst;
    Nice and compact.

    ~$100, plus antenna $10 + cables $10?

    I wouldn't drill your canopy, on my last toy I sandwiched an aluminum flat bar under the back corner of the canopy and mounted the antenna to that.

    Like others have said, depends on what you need and how much you want to spend. I have over $500 into my set up. :anonymous:

    The IC-7100 is more of a Base op radio IMHO. Control face is rather large, and the angle is not adjustable for mobile use.

    Id spend the $$ and find an old IC-7000 for mobile use.

    CBs are so 1980s

    Double back tape on the bracket, the CB doesn't move at all.
