Depends on the brand. The one I use takes about 1 hour. It will usually tell you on the bottle.

This. I use blackfire wet diamond sealant and it cures in 24 hrs. I like Meguiar's NXT 2.0 for wax, but that's me...

Thats probably dry time. I don't think I've ever seen a cure time in under an hour. Cure time is typically 12-72 hours depending on product and conditions. Hence why i say it'll probably remove it since most people apply it right afterwards.
If the wax is a cleaner wax and not a straight carnuba, theres a good chance it'll remove it even after curing.

In that case, one wash and an occasional dusting is good enough. :p

There is no wax better than Zaino. Don't believe me? Look what kind of cars people are waxing with it. A quick google search brings up Ferrari and Lamborghini forums. I will absolutely use nothing else. It is absolutely the best stuff out there. One year minimum wax longevity. Stupid clean shine. I have noticed lots of black first gens with massively failing clear coats. Mine is just now showing signs of clear coat failure in a 4" area on the roof. Nowhere else. Try it. You won't go back.

Nope it's cure time. I use Adam's polishes liquid paint sealant. Ready to layer in one hour or actually less.

I use Menzerna Power Lock and let the sealant cure for 24 hours.

I agree. Been using Collinite for years and years. Learned about it from my Dad. Awesome stuff and lasts a long time.

I just detailed my truck earlier this week using this process minus the clay. However, afterward I should have at least clayed my hood. It isn't as smooth as it could be. I may go back and redo it.

Pics of the end result here - http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-builds/307978-thatguyjzs-build-thread-5.html#post10017217

Many of you obviously have caught on to the secret of having the paint clean before coating, as many posts talk about clay.

So I just thought I'd mention why I don't use clay anymore.

    Auto Nanoskin

    Fantastic. Worth. Every. Penny.

I also use a PC orbital, 3 pad types and 3 Meguiars polishes of different aggressiveness. No, not all of them every time, that's just a selection for use on various vehicles in various conditions.

Collinite 845 is for my outside vehicles. Klasse is for my inside vehicles, particularly dark colors and/or local car shows. NXT is what I use on other folks cars to give them a bit of protection until they decide what they want to finish the vehicle with, although it does look pretty good and lasts a reasonable time.

You won't regret it. It may take a little to get used to after working clay, but once you do, you'll love it.

+1000 on the Nanoskin auto scrub system. So easy and paint gets crazy glossy and smooth from all that contaminant removal. Started with the nano shock sealant, and I've since began to use all of their other products across the line.
