With a 3" lift you could run 265/70, 275/70 is kinda hit and miss, I rubbed with mine

265/75 is a 32" tire that fits on a stock tacoma and would probaly be your best option. Its one size bigger. If 285's only need a little trimming then why would a 275 rub.(IDK)The 275 will be wider though not much taller.

I have the same wheels, I don't think you can fit bigger tires without hitting things like the upper control arm for one. You'll probably need wheel spacers to clear the UCAs and then you'll probably end up needing to trim other stuff. Our backspacing isn't right for 285s I don't believe.

I have 265/70/17s with a 3" lift if you want reference. I think it looks decent. Not as good as 285s but it's good enough for me.

OP, I have 255/75/17's which is a tall skinny 32, that's what I would go with but you'd probably need wheel spacers to clear your UCA's

A good question here is, is the texas edition 17" wheels 7", 7.5", or 8" wide? Ive been studying them for 3 weeks and seen it written all three ways. HA I have a set packaged up in the back of my truck to get installed tomorrow and have not even opened them yet. I understand the TRD Sport wheels on my truck now are 7.5" wide.

    They are 17x8

Thanks and your correct the new TE wheels are 17x8, and the factory TRD Sport wheels that were on it are 17x7 not the 7.5" that Ive been reading they are. These numbers are from stampings on the backside of both sets of wheels. I just wish I had a tape on me when I was having them changed out to measure the offset and see where that other inch went, to the inside or out.......anyone know?

The offset is 18mm on the 2013 Tacoma TE 17" rims. So they are 17x8 with 18mm (0.708") offset making the backspacing 4.96"
I am very new to this TW stuff, but to my understanding, this will make it very difficult to use wide tires without rubbing.
Now, having the numbers for the 2013 TE rims, maybe this feed will help as well:http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/wheels-tires/102992-wheel-backspacing-offset-info.html

Has anyone considered wheel spacers to clear the spindles and uca's. 5" backspacing is a lot but 3.5" not so much. Spidertrax 1.5" spacers and you would essentially have 3.5" bs

This is exactly what I am currently considering because I really like the TE rims and don't want to drop another 3-500 on new rims. Are you running maxtrac spindles? If so, what rear suspension do you have?
