    I have a 2013 PreRunner 2WD

I need to know if I get Maxtrac spindles 4" for the front lift, can I switch out my stock shocks for Bilstein 5100 series adjustable shocks? Or would a different shock be better?

With the Maxtracs I am looking at putting AllPro standard leaf pack in the rear. It is my understanding that I need to change out the shocks in the rear with any leaf pack. Would Bilstein 5125 shocks with 11.79" travel be a good choice? Would you recommend a different rear shock with the AllPro leaf pack?

Thank you for any and all insight and advice. I am so close to pulling the trigger on my first ever lilft, but I want to do it right the first time.

Kudos to you for choosing spindles. You sound like you know what you need. 5100's will do fine with that setup but, I would recommend getting the 5100 rear shocks that are for 3"-4" of lift. The 5125's typically do not come with a stem vs an eyelet on one end. Therefor you would have to run adapter and extend the length of your shock.

Everyone has mixed opinions on all pro's leaf packs. For the price id personally give them a try.

Goof plan of attack is getting spindles and Allpro packs
    How is that ?

That's a pretty darn good set-up if you were to ask me.
Please enlighten us with your superior product selections.

    Mr. Salty,

What rear shocks would be needed with the allpro leaf pack? Bilstein 5125s? Or another option?
I know I will need new shocks if I lift the rear 3" as the allpro leaf pack does.

    Thanks

He meant good I'm sure. Especially seeing as how d and f are next to each other on the keyboard.

The right shock is really going to depend on the collapse length. The longer the extended length the longer the shock body is which makes for a longer collapsed length. If the collapse length is too long you'll end up collapsing the shock before hitting the bumps. The 5125 shocks you indicated could work, but theres a good chance the collapse length is too long. Also the 5125 are a generic shock, they make them in stem to loop which is what you need, but the valving is generic. When these are compared to the 5100s they are actually stiffer. Considering the AP packs already have an increased spring rate over your factory packs, I'd personally choose a shock that's not as stiff.

As far as an affordable shock goes, the extended 5100 are not a bad choice with these packs, the extended length will complement the droop of the packs nicely. Though you may need to get longer bumps due to the collapse length and you'll have to confirm this after/during the install. I hear some folks run this combo with no issue, but I suspect they probably didn't cycle the suspension to know if the collapse length is an issue. If it is I'm sure it’s nothing major and slightly longer bumps would be an easy fix.

If going the 5125 route check out part number 24-214667.

    Hope this helps

Well guys, I am very appreciative of your insight and help, but I think I'm going to have to pass for now on the rear all pro leaf pack because I'll need the money to go towards new rims. I was hoping to keep my 17" Texas Edition rims and use spacers to get the proper backspacing, but I have read too many horror stories on here about wheels coming off, etc. I know if you tighten to specs it shouldn't happen, but I'm now afraid to take the risk.
I think I'm gonna have to go with the 4" spindles up front with 5100 adjustable height billys and blocks in the rear with 5125s or 5100 extended length depending on the size of the blocks.
How much will putting blocks in the rear stiffen the ride?

Who mentioned something about wheel spacers and wheels coming off

Sounds like a fish tale to me or maybe an isolated incident. I run 1.5" spacers in the rear with no issues at all. I've ran them in the past with great success as well.

I run wheel spacers also with no issues. I actually have a set of 3" beefed taco fabricated blocks for sale. They are tapered and push the axle .5" forward. They would do fine for now if your on a budget and a lot better than cast blocks.

And the local garage that specializes in lifts here in North Houston said that they wouldn't put spacers on with my lift because their insurance wouldn't cover it and it can be dangerous/damage hubs. Your thoughts on spacers all around to keep the stock rims?

Would you mind explaining what pushing the axle forward does and why they'd be better (other than because you are selling them:D) than blocks from, say, headstrong offroad?

    Thanks man!

Well first these blocks are specifically built for our trucks. Moving the axle forward helps with over extending the drive shaft/slip yoke. The taper helps restore the position of the axle. And fabricated blocks are typically much stronger. And they look better :D

Edit :And these blocks take 3+ months to get from street taco's
