Only 37k, that sounds fishy..I dont have any explanation for you. It may just need to be adjusted, thats really my only thought, happened on my subaru, clutch started slipping, had about 60k on it. My mechanic told me afterwords he could have adjusted it and I could have probably got another 10-15k.

typical for these trucks my truck had 45 contacted the dealer and over a month long process they agreed to cover half. My only issue was they would be putting in the same clutch that is well know to fall premature. So Im heading to florida for a week and I exchanged work with a mechanic and im having the lce pro kit installed while Im away. I wanted a clutch that would last more then 100k not the chance of another factory luk getting me only 40k when mine starting slipping.

I was in the exact same situation. My 2011 had about 30K (still under warranty) when it started slipping. Tried to get the local stealership to own up and help out, but they were a complete joke. Ended up buying the Aisin clutch parts off Ebay and swapping it myself. No more slipping.

    Parts I used:

    • OEM AISIN Pressure Plate (CTX-107)
    • OEM AISIN Clutch Disc (DTX-136; 250mm, 21 spline)

if i am not mistaken those are the parts off the old V6 motor and thats what i put in my 4cyl and the clutch feels like a truck clutch and not a corolla

    not yetttt....on warranty

I had to check the user info on your post to make sure I didn't write this drunk or something haha. I'm on here looking for the same information for the same truck 43months 37,800. This situation sucks doesn't it?

I have been doing the go around with toyota and my dealership for about a week now. The dealership said they couldn't do anything, and that I should contact toyota customer service 1800-331-4331. I did this, and the process is that they contact your dealer and the dealer gets back within 2 business days.

Toyota gave me after warranty assistance of $500. I'd assume if you try hard enough for this you can get it too. To me this was a slap in the face considering they're only paying 1/3 of the $1,500 bill for parts and labor that they quoted me, for a part that they have admitted is defective in a tsb. The dealer told me that if they find the part defective, they "might be able to get me extra assistance from toyota" unfortunately I'd be at their mercy for $1000 dollars, not cool. I had the bright idea of using the $500 they gave me to buy the oem parts from the dealership to install myself, nay, they won't let you, big surprise.

What it comes down to is you can buy aftermarket parts and have a private shop put them in for you for less that the dealership will charge even after the $500 discount. At least thats what my quotes have shown. But of course not going to the dealership means you lose out on some warranty protections...

Not sure if any of these ramblings helped, but I figured I'd share my experiences..

Last month I replaced mine at 37,800 miles and 35 months. Nothing from the dealer. Hoping this one lasts longer.

What a familiar problem. I bought a 2010 1.5 years ago with 23k on the odo. Soon as temps dropped below 40 the slippage started. After 3 trips to the dealer I knew I would get no help as all they would tell me is it's a wear item like brakes.

I decided that I was not going to let someone that chose to ignore a defective part replace my clutch with the same parts. So, 3 days ago I replaced the clutch with a centerforce dual friction. I think I made a good choice. For a daily driver it's only a little stiffer than the stock clutch.

This will be my last Toyota after seeing how they stand behind their products.

Where would you lose out on warranty protection? They wouldn't stand behind the original clutch and I can take a good guess how well they will stand behind the replacement.

When I replaced mine it was 3 days after I took it to the dealer for the third time. They told me they couldn't get it to slip. At this time it was so bad if I tried to pass another car I could hit 4k rpm at 40 mph in 4th gear.
