Not to much going on with it being so cold outside, But new Leaf Springs, shocks, and shackles are on order. Later in March Ill order some General Grabbers like the truck and some new rims. I did get around to mounting my new Co2 On Board Air Bottle in the box, Super clean with Quick Fits makes for really easy removal.

    -------7/30/17 UPDATE!!------

Well it has been awhile since this thread had a proper update, so here we go....First off if you read from the beginning I had talked about going away to trade school and working as a Marine Mechanic here in Baltimore, well thats basically what took place these past 2 years and thus my trailer had to take a back seat for life. Graduated trade school top of my class, got a full time job working where i did my apprenticeship, bought a 4Runner, got married and bought a house! Now that things have slowed down a bit I could get back to the trailer!

Enough about me, when I started this build I was just beginning to hone my skills as a mechanic and builder, a young kid basically. I dont mean to sound as though i am some awesome fabricator or builder or anything of the sort, only point is I realized my trailer could be better and I took short cuts on the original plan I regretted. So my first call was to @Mobtown Offroad about 2 hours from me in Maryland for some design ideas and weld plans. Joe is a great guy and awesome to work with, I sent him some ideas and rough drafts I had and he put together one Hell of a package! He extended the front for me as well as fabricated a new tailgate because the old one was so weak and bent.

Once I got the trailer back from Mob I started collecting parts and gathering more ideas. Purchased a set of leaf springs for a Willis CJ-2 since they are the perfect size and only require a bit of modification to work. I did upgrade to a set of modern shackles and did away with the "C" type.

Then decided to stop messing around trying to rebuild the old axle, and just ordered a new one from Southwest Wheel. Also picked up a set of original m416 tires and wheels, cleaned them up a bit and tossed a little black paint on em. Tires need to be replaced but still hold air well, I assume these have there original inner tube inside them. I sprung the axle over, so with the new tires and leafs it sits much higher now, almost perfect with the truck which is great because it raised the height of the tent, before it sat a little low for me.

Gave the trailer a fresh coat of white paint, I used flat paint this time, in my earlier years building I did not realize gloss shows imperfections. Also scored a set of square style fenders. Also repainted all the undercoating and frame rails using a epoxy black paint I found that is supposed to hold up much longer.

As you can see mob really did a great job on the front of the trailer, he welded up some tube mounts for the front jack as well as some on the rear for stabilization. I then wired the trailer up using heavy gauge trailer wiring, 7 way wire insulated in rubber coating and a 8 foot coil 7way connector to the truck. Im using brakes on the trailer yet, but I like how sturdy the 7 way wire and connectors are so I used them. Mob welded in a 2inch receiver for the front since now I am using a max coupler instead of the noisy pintle hitch!

I realized I would like to have some sort of cargo basket on the front, but lacked the skill to fab one, Harbor Freight sells a hitch mount cargo carrier for a SUV that I purchased for likE 40$ and assembled without the middle hitch tube for a narrower width. Since I came up with this idea after mob welded the front up the basket was 2inches to wide for behind the box. I simply cut 2inches out and repainted it ( cheap black power coated stuff like this fades anyway ). Now the basket fit perfectly and gives a great place for my Yeti and two jerry cans on each side.

I will be updating more as I go and build, I have bought a 20 gallon water tank I plan to install under the trailer and run a pressure switch pump to for shower and camp use, as well as some goodies for the front box thats is next on the list.

I did get to do a quick overnighter test run last weekend with the wife and everything did great!

Got a little time in the shop last night. Installed a group 24 battery and battery box inside the tounge box. Also wired up a blue sea systems switch panel and a 12v assessor block, with voltage indicator and USB ports.

Had some led floods laying around so I threw them on there as well wired to the panel.
