    Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and this truck, so please just bear with me. I have this disconnected hose that just hangs near air filter. Looks like there may have been a throttle cable in it, but my throttle cable is fine and cruise control doesn't look like it's missing anything. So can someone please tell me what it is exactly?

It's the one right in the center.

It comes from somewhere behind the motor. Can't tell from where exactly.

    Tranny kick down perhaps
    Assuming it's an auto

Oh yeah, that could be it. I just looked that up. My truck has all the symptoms of not downshifting when it needs to. I thought it was just a weak engine but maybe not. My old car never had that cable. As far as I know anyway.

Sure does. Both cables are there.

    Cruise and throttle?
Does it even have a kick down? if so where does it hook up?
Can you see where each of those cables go?

On my '99 3rz (in preceding photo of throttle), one is the throttle, and the other is the tranny cable. Models with cruise look the same (cable from pedal goes to the CC actuator, and a separate cable goes to the throttle)

I Don't even know if I have that kick down. One cable goes to gas pedal and the other goes into cruise control.

My cruise control doesn't work, but the actuator doesn't look like it's missing anything.

I see it. Mine only has two cables. The bottom one does seem to go somewhere to the transmission. The one I was asking about does too. My guess at this point is that it was the original and after it broke previous owner decided to rerun a new cable and outer sheath, leaving old one just hanging.
