Hi guys - while I have read a lot on this thread: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/285871-2nd-gen-4x4-35s-3-lift-w-o-body-lift.html ---- I still have a few questions....

I'm considering going with the Total Chaos 2" LT kit and icon shocks as well. With the LT kit, I'm having a hard time figuring out what to pair it with from Icon?? There is a lot to choose from and I want to make sure to get the right match.

I'm still trying to figure out what I absolutely must have in order to make the LT+35 system work together. When I see builds with gussets, sway bars, extended axles, etc.... I start to fall apart due to my lack of knowledge in suspension.

Can someone break it down to the bare bones of what is essential vs. what is luxury?

    Hopefully I'm making sense.

gonna need to do a LOT of trimming on the front fender... probably be best to get some glass flares.

As far as shocks... do it right, 2.5in remote resi.

You need 2.5x8s for shocks .. They are common on racedezert and relatively cheap. The spindle gussets and alignment gussets are essential if you plan to huck the truck. If you are running a sway bar on LT (idk how) you are doing it wrong. When you go LT with total chaos it pulls the spindle forward about an inch iirc, so trimming is minimal but you still would probably need a cmc and flatten your pinch weld, along with hammering of the inner firewall / fender.

    Ok. Here is the plan:

    TC: LT Kit

    +

    ICON SHOCKS

Obviously trimming and I chatted up with MrGrimm about cab mount chop.

Those shocks won't work with LT. You might have to go with Fox / King .. I don't think I've seen a 2.5 x 8 icon..

I'm running the AP 2" LT kit with 33's and stock fenders. Just had to trim the fender well plastic and move it forward in order to clear the tires. 35's will def require some major trimming / cutting or running glass fenders.
