It's not new, it's not Mexico
February of this year I damaged a tire on my '14 Miata & ordered a replacement tire from Tire Rack. Tire Rack's shipping vendor, UPS, lost the tire.
Because Tire Rack doesn't have 24/7 customer service I had to leave a message asking where was my tire. When I finally got through to a Tire Rack customer service agent, Abel, I was told I would have to wait a week or longer for UPS to conduct a "missing package investigation" and there was NOTHING further he could do.
The next day I exchanged e-mails with Bonnie from Tire Rack customer service. She said they would be willing to send out a replacement tire, but I would have to come up with a different address because UPS won't deliver to an address under dispute. I wasn't planning to move any time soon, I'm not using an installer and my work doesn't accept personnel packages. I guess using a different shipping company was out of the question.
After that I went to the Kirtland AFB exchange auto shop & ordered a tire from them. It was $8 more but at least I got my tire.
I had bought tires and wheels from Tire Rack before without a problem, but when something went wrong they fell flat on their faces & put all the burden on me. I sent my money to the right place :notsure: WTF Tire Rack?

In their defense, there's not a whole lot they can do once UPS has it. It Become's UPS's issue, and they're usually a bitch to deal with.

No. They could have sent me a replacement tire immediately using a different shipper. It's not the customer's responsibility to deal with the shipper.
