So as the title says, Id love to go to hollister hills but im kinda hesitant.. cause

    1. Tires arent super aggressive IMO
    2. No lift im still at stock height
    3. PreRunner (2wd) with Factory E-locker, but hasnt stopped me from wanting to try Dirt roads or light mud

but im not sure how rough itll be at Hollister hills

    enough to go over stuff
Hollister hills is a great place to start. Trails are clearly rated. Lots of people around. Good maps. The greens are fire roads that the blues will be fun in a prerunner. I took mine there. The blacks would be difficult but doable and fun in a lock prerunner with a friend to spot and a winch at the top.

Great! Im glad I made a post about this. I just dont have a buddy with a winch. But Over Prepared is my middle name haha! I just need to get a new chain and thinking of getting a Hi-Lift jack just in case cause ive been told it could be used as a winch?
However if any of yall are in the Bay area and wanting to come tag along with, ill probably bump this or make a post about the whole trip. Since im fairly new to the wheeling game as well as the area Thanks for all the replies

I have a 2x4 and I never wheeled alone until I got sliders and a hi-mount jack to get me unstuck.

Honestly its just safer to wheel with friends. Its hard on the truck and if something breaks and you are 20 miles from the road with no help, you'll be walking a lot.

A Hi-lift is more used as a come along then a winch. I'd personally like to suggest straps over chains. When are you planning on going?

Well I probably would never go alone even if I had those items. Ill only go alone if I scout the area, and/or I know the place im 'wheeling' like a gravel road or something.

however I agree its always best to have friends along. But with that being said "IF something breaks" is what im worried about as well, but going slowly but with enough momentum I should be ok.

Yes, I use my high lift as a come along quite often, straps are easier to use, but sometimes it is nice to have a chain
