First Gen Tundra Build

    Decided to finally make a build thread, just to keep track of everything.

    Truck:
    2000 Toyota Tundra 4.7l V8 Limited Edition, leather interior.
    K&N CAI
    Short tube headers
    Magnaflow exhaust
    Detroit Locker, geared to 4.88
    35% Tint
    Quick release steering wheel hub (nexgen hub) and MOMO deep dish leather wheel to replace beat stock wheel.
    Pioneer speakers all around, tweeters, 10" sub under the rear seat.
    Chopped and pulled bedsides (tucks 33's with ~24" of travel), Glassworks front glass.
    New trans (20k on it) w/ shift kit.
    TC steering rack bushings.
    Battery moved to bed, WestMarine fuse box installed under hood. 0 gauge wiring throughout.


    Suspension:
    Front:
    Total Chaos 3.5" kit
    King 2.5x8" reservoir coilovers (spring weight?)
    Fox 2.5x8" Double Bypass on a secondary hoop I made, frame plated at bend.
    Camburg Heimed Steering clevis'
    Heim steering, double shear lbj.
    TC Spindle gussets + custom gusseting
    Solid mounted lower arm mounts, plated with 1/8", and 1/4" solid mounted "cam tabs" with 3/4" grade 8 bolts
    Rear:
    Giant DD Link Kit
    2.5x14" King reservoir coilovers
    400lb over 500lb dual rate springs
    Low profile bedcage

    Bumpers:
    Front:
    2" .120 DOM main tubes with 1.75 .120 DOM tie ins. Wraps all the way to the frame, completely protecting radiator. 1/4" aluminum skids.
    Rear:
    1/8" internally gusseted plate bumper. Adding 2" receiver and maybe recovery points soon.


    To do:
    Install aux trans cooler
    Custom driveline to ditch stock cb
    plate + box rear frame
    Wire inspection lights, chase lights, front led's

    Maintenance list:
    New Spark Plugs at 180K
    New diff fluid (4 quarts) at 205k
    New Brake Drums and Pads (rear) at 205k
    New Master Cylinder and fluid at 205k
    Transmission w/ shift kit and fluid flush at 210k
    Timing belt replaced at 212k
    Serpentine belt replaced at 212k
    Coolant flushed at 212k
    Drilled and slotted front brake rotors installed at 225k
    New headers installed at 228k
    New Denso 02 sensors (upstream) installed
    New Maf sensor (Hitachi MAF0048)
    New Steering rack at 228k
    New Radiator 229k
    Driver side LBJ replaced, passenger side kept for spare. 1/4" double shear added, 234k
    Lower control arm bushings (poly from TC) at 234k
    New steering rack at 235k

    Got the truck in December for dirt cheap. Looking like this, no bypasses, shitty front bumper, tire carrier and no rear bumper. Rear end sat waaay too high on 700lb coils.

    Worked alright, but I had lots of things to change

    Fully loaded, heading to San Diego. Notice how even with 600lbs of shit in the bed, it wasn't sagging too bad. Springs were waaaay too stiff.

    Got it to Landon's shop and started tearing her apart

    Solid mounted the lowers, plated the shit out of everything in sight. Then got to work doing what I wanted to do.

    Turned out good

    Then I built a front bumper

    Then a rear bumper after I ditched the tire carrier for a stock tailgate and some cash.

    Changed out the springs, installed the tailgate.

    Went on an epic Ocotillo trip, working my ass off the night before to get the truck prepped.

    Tuned the bypasses, replaced some bushings, etc. Made it out to the superstition trip. Truck did amazing, pushed it really hard and didn't have a problem.

    Broke the spindle in half the other day cresting into a rut. Was cracked before the desert trips, luckily didn't give way in the whoops.

    Fixed it in my buddies driveway back in Isla Vista, pushing 110 as hot as i could haha
    Wrapped it with a piece of 1/4"

    Then plated it in

    Gusseted the other side to keep it from happening again until I can build lift spindles

    Update:
    Went back home to get my light bars. Very impressed with the quality! 10W Cree LED single rows, with amber corners wired separately.

    Mounted one under my bumper behind the skidplate. Was hoping to use two 30's but this was the cleanest way and im going for a slightly sleeper look.

    no glamis for me but i'll be out in superstition hopefully sometime this next month! just need to get my driveline squared away and make some motor mounts then she's about done! ... for now!

    haven't had the chance, i'm going night shooting tomorrow and will get some pics when i do, should look pretty cool

    thanks man! a lot of sweat into this thing, day after day at landon's shop working my ass off but it's been worth it! very happy with the truck. Links, long travel, with a nice stockish interior and a full bed, has been exactly what i've been working towards!
