Well, then it's the worst. It is completely independent sides after seeing one at my local Lowes. They are 2 grills welded together...

The back gills of the propane side aren't closeable. The chimney stack isn't going to be moved either, so smoke would escape before it even reached the end of the 2 chambers. Decent concept for those who don't smoke a ton of stuff at once, but horrible for anyone looking to use both sides at once.

Are you a beginner smoker? If so, I don't know how much you would like giving your smoker constant attention. Sometimes it is nice to set and forget and not need to babysit the smoker.

Find an electric one, or a pellet one for beginning.

Too poor to list anything interesting.

That looks like a nice little smoker.

I can't give you advice on if the size would be good enough. But hopefully someone here can.

My 12 hour day doesn't start until 11 am.[/QUOTE]

RyRy...been smoking for about a Hundred years, and have used just about every type of smoker imaginable, and fuel sources...since you are a novice, and dont want to spend a shit ton of money, and need something manageable size wise, I'm gonna' suggest this 30" Electric Masterbuilt, they make a 40", but Its overkill unless youre gonna feed the crew of an Amphib assault ship....I suggest using flavored pellets with the A-maz-n Pellet smoker as well......Its a great start up system till you get hooked on smokin'...then you'll be Jonesin' for a Lang...!!

My dad has one and he loves it, but we took a welder to it and added thicker steel to the firebox and a bunch of baffles to keep the smoke in the chamber for longer.

Be aware the last one you posted is not insulated at all. The Masterbuilt 30 digital is, very well so. I smoke in sub-freezing temps with no problems on a regular basis.

He made Vegas his home base...he ain't worried about insulation....he might even have to "wrap" his smoker in wet towels to keep temps down..!!!

Not a bad smoker...only thing is the built in Thermometer...usuallly crap...mine is off 20-30*...any man worthy of his "Rub", has a decent Therm Pen, or digital thermometer....My go to is the Maverick...

Get a barrel with a side fire box and play with coals and wood chunks. Great excuse to get up @ 4a to start smoking and drinking on meat days!

I also find it more gratifying when I harvest the wood I'm smoking with. Been almost 3 years since I've paid for wood chunks.

And I agree with TRD man, invest in a good thermometer.

Their Longhorn smoker is a nice classic design.

X1000. It's nice to run to town and not having to worry about your fire going out.

I have this one ^^^ I absolutely love it! True it's not insulated but over the winter when I've used it I bump the heat up a tad bit to keep it at the correct temp. Where you live I doubt 20 Degrees happens that often. I have an offset one and could NEVER keep the temp constant. It's a Char-broil so maybe that was the issue. I use the main chamber of it now for charcoal grilling only. Love my Masterbuilt analog! Smokes a mean Butt!

Oh man I can't wait. I have a giant sequoia in my backyard just begging to be chopped down. I never thought of throwing it in the smoker. You're the best!!!

No pine. I believe it was a joke. I don't even use mesquite. I use almost exclusively fruitwood - plenty of apple & cherry around. Sometimes I get hold of a fallen pecan limb for a really light smoke.
