I take mine out if I won't be driving the truck for 3 or 4 weeks. Other than that I left it in for 2 years without issues.

It took 3 weeks for my obd2 Bluetooth adapter to drain the battery enough to not be able to start my truck.

Left mine in too. Never had an issue with it. Went longer than that without a startup. But I have the larger single battery in at the time. Then the dual setup.

Brand New excuse my ignorance. I bought the BAFX Bluetooth OBD2 reader and the Torque Pro App. I am trying to use it on my 2013 Tacoma Access Cab V6 Off Road. All stock as well. I really want to use it for the Instant and Average MPG, Fuel levels/ Fuel remaining until empty. I went through all 30 pages and could not for the life of me see or understand what I need to do to get accurate readings for MPG ( the reading just kept raising during the whole test drive even tho i was going uphill, speeding up, stopped at and Idle) and fuel remaining. I was also wondering how to change the Speedometer from KMH to MPH, or just in general how to switch everything to what ever measurements we use here in the United States.

Go to Setting > Units, and check the measurement we use.

I use the option "Enhanced MPG Calculation" under the "OBD2 Adapter Settings" section. Our trucks don't have a fuel level sensor, so fuel range is only going to be an estimated calculation, and you'll probably have to manually tell it every time you fill the tank.

Yep...the main reason I got mine was to monitor fuel economy too....oh well.

You can still do fuel economy, but for stuff like fuel range, you'll have to tell Torque the size of the tank, weight of the truck, etc, and reset the gauge every time you fill up. It will try to guess the range.

Meh....the absence of a fuel level sensor makes much of what I want to do a bit cumbersome. I didn't want guesses...I wanted to have similar functionality to my wife's base model KIA. Call me crazy! I find myself wondering what is so great about my truck. I now think the "Limited" badge means that it is full of limitations. hahaha

I've had a couple GM cars with that feature, and it was usually off by quite a bit.

My wife's 2011 KIA Optima's fuel monitoring is near bang on. I have to keep reminding myself that my $'s paid for a dependable ride. My 04 Colorado was a POS...period. All I ever wanted from it was heat, A/C, 4WD and brakes...at any given time one or more of those were out and in the most inconvenient times. I chose the 2013 Tacoma Limited over a 2015 Colorado.

This Torque Pro app and OBDII adapter will absolutely have a use...no question.

I used the two PIDs. Sensor one always spikes when i give gas making me wonder if i made a mistake in the PID. Sensor 2 looks fine at idle.. How does sensor 1 measure the temp?Screenshot_2015-07-15-21-05-45.jpg

I think your first sensor is wrong. What is the pid settings you used and hear of your truck?

I have a 2011 and my codes are different. I think the ECU might be different for the 2013's however.

So the only difference I see is for tranny temp 1, I use letters A and B vs E and F and for temp 2 I'm using A and B vs G and H.

This is what I'm using for my '12 and it's working fine. If I understand correctly, it should be the same for '13.
    worth a shot anyway.

Just got my BAFX, can't wait to download the app and give it a go this weekend when I fix my AF sensor.

hey are they're any other PID's for the 4.0 in the 2nd gens? Not that its a huge concern but i think i saw where on honda's u can add one for injector duty and stuff, and where would be the place to look for the formula's? (i have the Trans temp btw)

Well it worked with the new PIDs. Thanks! I do have few concerns. Just drove for about 15 minutes. 100 F outside temp. Looks like the tranny is pretty hot at 195 F. Has a towing package with a supercharger and the additional tranny cooler it came with. Also the AFR spikes to 18 when letting go of the gas. In boost mode runs rich as low as 11.

Can't speak to the afr but the tranny temps don't surprise me based on what I've seen. I've seen it get up to 218 or so going up the mountains and cool back down to 180 going down.
