I'm not too concerned about on-the-road driving yet but my offroad club's open house is May 16. Last thing I want to do is emulate Monty.

I agree that would definitely suck.

I have a belt squeak in the morning/wet/cold.. How can I tell when my belt is tight enough/just right?

That is the single best design I've seen for one of these yet! I like the execution and simplicity of it. Stop giving me ideas, my wallet just recovered from total empty syndrome and I think you just made it pop its stitches.

Switched from white LEDs to red. Pic is on the lowest dim setting, they are crazy bright on high.

I replaced all three belts around the holidays and all I can say is unless you have the proper tension gauge the only way to know is by experience. Go find another vehicle with separate belts (not a serpentine belt) and feel the flex in different areas to get an idea. That is how I have been doing it and my belts seem fine.

I'd be willing to get redneck and grab a ruler to measure the "give" one of my belts has if you think that would help you.

Thanks bro, I'm going to try and mess with it in the morning tmrw so I can tell if it's squeaking or not, I'll let you know if I need it. I watched a video on YouTube that basically said on the longest section between pulleys the belt should turn 90 degrees and not anymore.

I just rub a bar of Irish Spring on my belts with the truck running.

Smells great and stops the squeaking. :D

I have always found squealing belts are usually dry, cracked and stretched. I hate belt noises so when they get to that point I just replace 'em. They aren't very expensive. Although the soap (or a wax candle) will stop the noises for a bit.

You asked the question that's been on my mind..looks like I'll be ordering these soon. I noticed when I was looking at them a little while back on camelback that they had some for 50 a piece and some for almost a hundred a piece. I figured it was the more expensive ones..

The $50 LBJ's are for 5-luggers. You want the more expensive ones that say "w/PreRunner" if you have 4WD.
