I'm on my second set of these and I got 75-80k miles in the first set. $600 at Costco this tie. Mechanic buddy says they're the most evenly balanced tires for the manufacturer. I'm not the type to buy the cheapest tires. I buy the ones that won't need to be replaced every two or three years. A few years ago we had snow and I didn't realize I was going 50-60 down I80 through TRUCKEE. These things glued me to the road.

    Michelin LTX MS/2 tires rock!

When I purchased my truck, the dealer had installed Chinese-manufactured Runway brand tires on them. Replacing those tires was my first priority after getting the truck home. The Runway tires might be good or they might be bad rubber, I honestly don't know. What I did know is that I live in an extreme climate and wanted to make sure that I've got tires on the truck that I could trust. I've run Michelin rubber on my Mustang for years. As such I have good faith in them. So far I am very pleased with their performance.

When did you manage to buy a set for $600 at Costco? I just went over to their site and it indicates they go to $213 EACH unmounted! Cheapest I've found today is at Discount Tire for $174, and that's not mounted. OTD price there (for 5) is $1100+!

Anybody in the market for a set of BFG Rugged Trails? Only 820 miles on them! :D

Another huge fan of the Michelin LTX MS2! When first installed the shop put something like 40psi all around. It rode rougher than I liked. I set 'em to 32-33 and rides just the way I like it.

Discount Tire's ebay store has $100 off (4) right now

    245/75/16 $696... then $596 after discount

I've put 25,000 on mine so far and I wouldn't use another tire. Pricey but I think the tires are the most important thing on the truck.

I've had two sets of the original LTX M/S tires and they were awesome. Got 103,000 out of the first set and 95,000 out of the second set. got to admit they were probably the best tire I've ever bought. I switched to a Nitto Terra Grappler with the new taco and they have been a really great tire too.

I went with the at2's last year. While I love the ride they offer they aren't as good in the snow as I had hoped.

Look out for snakes in the grass guerrilla marketing.
Switching to these tomorrow in 285/75/16 - got my dealer to price match walmart for $198 per tire :)

He had to drop the buy 3 get one free deal though lol

UPDATE - got him to still do the 3 for 1 deal and they had a coupon for free alignment with tire purchase so 4 tires balanced and aligned out the door for $729 :)

That's because they don't have winter/ice siping in that zigzag pattern that bites so well in winter. I don't understand how people can say the AT2's are goon in winter. I've never driven them but there's a reason you never see winter tires without the zigzag patterned sipes.

They're supposed to be a great tire otherwise. Not as good in wet or frozen but better on gravel and dirt.

    That's cheap.

I got 265/70/16 through Toyota. Dealer says Toyota sets pricing (who knows if true). $213 each plus $55 mount/balance. But, Toyota is doing a buy 3 get 1 for $1 event for April. After having the dealer correct an erroneous charge to dispose of my old tires (which were in the bed of my truck) it was $677.20 out the door.

So as it happens we had a pretty good rain come through town last night. On my way home down the interstate at 75mph I never really felt a thing. My drive to and from work the last two days since putting the Michelin's on has been day and night difference from the Dunlops. I'm realizing how much smoother they actually feel. Much firmer tire so I do feel road bumps more. But the ride feels smoother over all. And honestly my brakes don't feel as soft anymore either. It's pretty ridiculous how different these tires are.

I did realize I need to have my windshield treated with Rain-X though!!

Oh, and I managed to get $300 for my Dunlops by selling them on Craiglist this evening.

Yeah this is true. All the DCSB Off-Road models at the dealership had BFG's on them. Checked them out while I was waiting for my tires. Everything else was Dunlops. SR5, the single SR model they had, and the Sport models. I'd assume it's the same for the 2WD versions but those are rare up here in Montana. Yet to see a PreRunner myself.

I did see a burnt orange colored Tundra PRO at the dealership though!

My M/S 2's have about 8000 miles on them and I love em! The stock sport tires sucked in rain and these glide through no problem.

    5%?

According to this it's a 0.5% difference in circumference. Pretty negligible if you think about it. Half of one percent?

Also the revolutions per mile is reduced by 0.5% as well.

The michelin is the best road tire for any truck IMHO.

20k miles so far on P245/75-16's that replaced Dunlops. Even allowing for wear on the old tires, mpg down slightly, maybe 1% at most. But, the MS2's are .4 inches wider in tread width, and about 2 pounds heavier per tire according to Tire Rack. All other specs are the same, ie overall width, revs/mile, diameter. Small price to pay for the difference in handling, especially in the wet.
