    Working on a camper shell.
    1) I'm impatient..
    2) I refuse to spend $3000 on my first camper shell on a $10k truck..

$200 Leer off of Craigslist with windoors/sliding and removable front/nylon interior and all working locks, will hold me over until something better comes along; thought I'd post a quick picture for those wondering how it looks/fits.

I had to sawzall the clamps I bought ($35) and strategically place some weather stripping/padding from PepBoys ($20), but it holds, doesn't scratch, and is waterproof, shabam; I don't mind the look, and even kind of like being able to use the couple inches on each side as a step to reach things (that will eventually be) on the roof rack.

For those considering - the fiberglass hangs over the inside an inch or so, its a couple inches too short width wise, and maybe 1" too long, and then you can see the gap you get since it has the angle, but hey, you save a couple grand...until something better comes along on Craigs..

Planning to chop/refiberglass the angled section for a better fit and paint gray with a bed liner swoosh like the ARE Overland, will chime in on a different thread when the build is complete!

    Cheers,
    Jean and Jason

Doesn't look half bad, man. Should definitely hold you over until you can find a better deal.

Did the same thing on my previous Tacoma (2011), extended cab Leer on a regular cab and it rubbed the paint off on the cab corners and gouged the third brake light. Wouldn't consider putting it on my 2014....use it now to store firewood. Thought about grinding down the front, top edge of the Leer and redoing the fiberglass so it doesn't damage my current truck. I'm with you about the money....got mine for $100.00. Guess you get what you pay for....so the saying goes.
